It shouldn’t be a big surprise given how bad the program has been over the last 30 years, but I’m having a really hard time thinking of any other former Illini assistants to eventually become head coaches.

Ironically given Ryan Walters kicked off this discussion, the only other guy I can think of is his predecessor at Purdue who was QB coach at Illinois before becoming OC at UAB.

Not college, but wasn't Sean Payton OC at Illinois?

Tepper was the start of the demise.

Per Wikipedia, he was QB coach in 1996 and then took the same position with the Eagles the next year.

This backup Tennessee QB has a fudgin GUN for an arm

Ahh yes, Joe Milton aka Michigan’s starting QB to start that disastrous 2020 season. Problem has always been accuracy but seems like that’s improving

Michigan outgained TCU in the first half and had 4 scoring opportunities to TCUs 2. But are down by 15 at the half because they got 0 points from 2 situations with the ball inside the 2 (also Wilson scored a TD, that was complete BS) and threw a pick 6

I’m done with sports for awhile if Michigan can’t come back. Maybe opening day

Feel bad for UMFan, honestly thought Michigan would win in a walk. It'll be interesting to see if TCU can give Georgia or Ohio State a game on the 9th.

The last time I was this gutted about a sporting event was the 2003 NLCS. This is really bad.

Ouch. Sadly I think if Michigan would have just played straight up defense in the 2nd half they would have won. Taking big risks killed them.
