Arkansas giving Kansas a game here

Yes they did, don't mind Kansas losing, they've got a real shot at the FF now. Eat my words didn't think they much of chance, good for them.

Give me Musselman over anyone in the country for the Hog program.

I don’t even mean this in a snarky way, if my team lost in the first round to a 13, 15, and 16 in consecutive years I might stop watching them. At least don’t invest a bunch of time in the regular season so future disappointments hurt less

All it took was Kim Anderson for you to give up on Mizzou.

No one should care because its the NIT but after losing 6 other games with an 80%+ chance of winning in the 2nd half this year, Michigan managed to save their best for last.

Up 8, with the ball, 1:06 left and their best player with the ball in his hands under the basket with a clean look, and they managed to lose in regulation. Vanderbilt didn't hit any 3 pointers. Michigan didn't shoot (and miss) any FTs. They just turned the ball over 4 straight times leading to easy baskets (and a FT). 97.7% chance of winning and they lost it. Good times

Do you happen to have a video I can watch?

Find your own wanking material lol

As much as you hate Michigan I doubt you want to watch NIT highlights but I want people to understand how stupid this was so I’ll take a chance. Starts at 22:00 with Hunter missing a point blank layup

How does Pickett keep getting away with using his left arm to push the defender away?

I was wondering this throughout the Big Ten Tournament. I don't get it.

Conference tournament champs have only won 3 of the last 10 tourneys.

Only 3 power 6 champs remain at the moment with 5 out of 12 participants at the moment. I didn’t quite buy it before but I think there’s something to people preferring their team get knocked out early if they’re not bubble adjacent. Committee has not given big seed upgrades in some time for tourney performance.

B1G was 5-3 in the first round, 0-3 yesterday. IU and MSU are the only hope for the Sweet Sixteen.

Would be pretty impressive to get the most teams into the tournament and have everyone flame out in the first weekend

Hunter’s the country’s biggest butt munch so I’d say that’s just karma.

Oh man, thank you! I thought it was just me being bitter because he beat IU both times this year, but he does this ALL the time, including last night. He got called for putting his hip into a defender trailing his guy on a handoff look, but he could get called almost every play. I noticed a bunch of other guys using the off arm to push also, and it was never called, so I guess....more power to them to use it.

So, business as usual.

Can’t even represent in the NIT so yeah, it’s not good.

This storyline was pre-written so of course Derwood is parroting it. 6 out of 8 teams were 7 through 10s. Purdue is the only glaring failure. I do think Indiana wins today though.

When FDU gets blown out in this game, am I supposed to feel better that they just had a fluky game-of-their-lives against Purdue? Or worse because it's just more proof that Purdue should have easily won that game?

I did not like that TCU foul with 0.7 seconds left one bit. I'm in a squares pool for the tournament. Similar to a Super Bowl squares except instead of a specific team, on one axis it's the winning team and the other it's the losing team. So there's a winner for all 63 games and the payouts are higher for each successive round. I got one square which was winning team 2, losing team 8. So I was 0.7 seconds away from winning money.

Damn that sucks! Predictably it also allowed TCU to cover as the spread was 4.5.

Bad beat aside, highly recommend it. Payout is set up where you just have to win at most one game per square you have to break even. So mine is $10 per square and the payouts per round are 10/15/20/25/40/100 per game. And the numbers are pretty much random unlike the Super Bowl where certain numbers are much better than others. Like if you get 1/2/5/8/9 in the NFL, you basically have no chance of winning the first quarter unless something weird happens.

Hopefully after time has passed you can at least take solace in the fact that Purdue won the regular season and conference tournament championship. But I totally get it if this completely ruins those accomplishments. I was talking with some Michigan fans after the game about whether you’d rather miss the tourney or be a 1 seed and lose to a 16. I think I’d rather actually miss the tourney of those scenarios

i'd rather have the entirety of Purdue's season, without a second thought, because this of course includes those 2 accomplishments you listed and banners that are hung forever

this thread is having a real atypical hot take fest re Purdue, sometimes stylistic bad matchups occur, that's part of the beauty of March Madness
