Really don't believe Arkansas has much of a chance vs. Kansas while not as low IQ as the Illini. They're not exactly a smart basketball team.

Please extrapolate.

Turnover prone, don't take care of the ball - Illini had 7 steals - at times, too much hero ball.

Arkansas took a bunch of bad shots, which really helped Illinois start to come back. Of course, Illinois couldn't take care of the ball, so it didn't matter, but this game showed that Arkansas needs to get it together or get blown out by Kansas

Underwood has the Illini making the tournament with some consistency but, at some point they've got to do more than lose in the first or second round. With signing an extension don't know if his seat going to start getting warm. However, if things don't get better in the post season within the next few years, I don't think it unreasonable for Illinois to start looking for another coach.

I’ll give him a pass on this year. Between all the transfers out and back in this team never jelled and was a mishmash of parts that didn’t fit together. I feel like Goode missing half the season really affected their ability to build a successful offense. Add in Clark leaving and he did a pretty decent job of making chicken salad out of chicken horsefeathers. I’ll be a lot more skeptical if there are a bunch of transfers this offseason.

What a complete horsefeathers show on both ends of the floor for A&M. Worst game we’ve played since December. Penn State is shredding our D and we are just jacking up 3’s which isn’t our game. Wade Taylor is way better than this too. What a shitty way to end this season.

Yikes

Also read something to extent of Clark waiting until he collected all NIL monies before announcing his transfer. If true that's pretty slimy but, as I understand it, this kid is surrounded by whole entourage of people. If I had to guess, not all of whom have Clark' best interests in mind.

Fun seeing PSU ride their hot streak, but don't know if that gets them anywhere against Texas.

Then again, if you're shooting 3's like they did last night, you can stay in a game with anyone

This is my take as well.

Some of the post game comments from Hawkins, Shannon and RJ were telling. I think a lot were directed towards Mayer.

Without a doubt, if Underwood was given another chance, I'm fairly certain he'd pass on both Clark and Mayer.

Clark is already gone. Mayers is now out of eligibility. The entire rest of the team could theoretically be back.

Shannon and Hawkins will both test the draft waters and there will probably be 2/3 transfers out/in.

They really need a point guard. I don’t think they’re expecting a lot from the Italian kid and the other two recruits are both highly rated, but not pgs.

I give up.

Everybody was right about Purdue. They're pretenders. They can't get it done when the pressure's on. They got lucky early season.

I horsefeathering hate rooting for Purdue.

Purdue reminds me of 2012-2013 Michigan. They brought back some returning players like Burke and Hardaway and had a great incoming freshman class. Ranked 5th going into the season, they started 20-1 and at one point were ranked number 1. Their defense then fell apart and they went 6-7 the rest of the season including getting knocked out early in the Big Ten tournament. They even lost to a Penn State team that went 2-16 in the conference. Over the last 2 weeks they dropped from a 1 seed to a 4 seed and their expectations were much lower (I remember everyone picking 5 seed VCU to upset them in the 2nd round), but they found another gear and went all the way to the championship game.

Not saying its a perfect comparison by any means and admittedly just drawing parallels without much actual analysis (though I know Purdue's defense has really dropped off lately similar to Michigan's) but just saying don't completely dismiss the early season performance or take too much stock in the late season lag. Expected to be a top team heading into the season, they played like it initially and then slipped before putting it back together. Sounds like Purdue so far.

….or not

FDU was Kenpom’s 297th ranked team, and had the 4th worst defense of any team in the country. They did not even win their conference tournament. They lost their championship game but got the auto-bid because Merrimack was ineligible.

This is worse than UMBC/Virginia despite the score being closer.

Painter has now lost to an 11, 12, 13, 15 and 16 seed

Anyone who was mocking people for saying Purdue were a fake good team should step up and apologize.

How about I tell you to go horsefeathers yourself instead?
