Maybe I’m way off but i thought the bears should have run on 2nd down. Plenty of time and the Bears have really struggled to pass for a score in goal to go situations. Certainly wouldn’t have done a vanilla run play but something to catch them off guard

Shovel pass

I’d be interested to see Fields splits between 1st half and 2nd half. Seems like quite frequently even going back to last year he has been bad in the first half and then redeems himself in the 2nd half. Wonder why that is

isn't this exactly what poles haters said would happen

Haters is tough. Just the realists.

Can't scotch tape an NFL roster.

True enough but, once again, given the terrible lack roster management by Pace and the lack of resources just what could Poles have done? I'm not defending Poles but, people are talking as if he had a plethora of resources and moves available, he did not. Now, next season, a little bit different picture.

Take Pickens with the first pick in the second, could still go DB with their second 2nd rounder, then pick OL in the third.

Yep, and I think they should have returned to the power gun run deep in the red zone too.

I know it’s not the dynasty patriots anymore but Belichick has to be so jacked up that he’s gonna have a light week of gameplanning to beat an XFL caliber team

First half NSBB: fields just doesn’t have it, he’s not the guy

Second half NSBB: fields deserves so much better he should ask for a trade

These are not mutually exclusive positions.

His early draft results have been real bad... Even with Brisker.

Forgot to mention Reiff and Schofield too. Pringle, etc. St. Brown, Pettis, etc

Letting Daniels go was horsefeathering stupid. You can't tell me he wouldn't be a better C than Mustipher. Daniels was drafted with the idea of possibly becoming a C

I’m not surprised a bunch of 4-7 round picks have not been able to step in and immediately fill key holes on a bad roster. Almost no other team in NFL history would start a 5th round rookie at LT. What do you expect?

Gordon seems to have improved a bit since his disastrous first 2 games, you mentioned Brisker has been solid. Jones is a disaster but hasn’t proven or not proven he can be an NFL receiver yet as he’s missed so much time. I mean horsefeathers him for botching 2 critical punts that had a major effect in losses but he was drafted as a receiver too.

I agree, Mustipher at C is the primary reason the line gets blown up so often in pass protection, there's no way Daniels would have been worse.

Yea, Daniels back and any decent second OL investment and any decent WR investment and this would be merely a bottom 10 supporting cast, but enough to allow Fields a proper development environment. And it was doable resource wise.

Right now his development for the rest of 2022 feels super tenuous.

And it was all pretty predictable.

Bears probably should have won this 17-3 but at least they have a draft tiebreaker on Washington.

This roster blows

Getsy blows

I want to see Fields improve, despite the horrible talent around him, he has. Albeit at a slower pace so far

Is the draft tie breaker not just SOS?

Going into this week bears had hardest SOS of course. They're somehow gonna be in an upgill climb to even tank for a top pick.

Edit-okay the only team with a hard SOS right now is Washington, which makes sense as it's the NFC East throwing SOS right now and they're the only bad team in it.

So once the NFC East plays more intra division games that SOS will come down a little, but it doesn't look like the weak schedule most thought.

And yes I participated on both sides

I'm more in between than I was two weeks ago. He's gone from indescribably awful to just regular bad. We can ride out another season and a half of this to see if he develops.

He's hitting guys in their hands/faces and they can't catch the horsefeathering ball and your thought is "..derrrp er ya Fields is just bad"

No one forced him to go DB-DB-KR with his first three picks when he knew full well what the offense needed.

The fact that he can't make the field as a receiver consistently on *this* roster is the most damning thing you could say about VJJ.

He's not even playing C now for a team with a similarly bad OL
