Dolphins need to be fined and lost draft picks for this. And the doctor who cleared him last week should be fired. It was absurd he returned last week and is absurd he played today.

Of course the NFL probably won’t do anything because they don’t care.

Sounds like NFLPA is considering filing suit. Still doubtful anything meaningful will happen.

Maybe the NFL should seriously consider no more Thursday games.

They'd consider that for 1/2 a second before they'd remember they really like money.

I’ll defend the NFL and say they don’t care because the paying audience doesn’t care. To the vast majority of NFL fans, the injury was Tua being Tua

Of all the weird things you post, this wins the award.

Maybe mandate a bye so it's not a short turnaround.

The short turnaround didn't cause this injury. The negligent medical staff caused it.

You know you could have said the rest without the bold part, right?

I've gone into on Twitter about how I feel about the whole thing. To sum up my thoughts on the Tua situation.

This isn't a team, player or doctor issue. It's a system issue. The league itself is a mega corporation run by billionaires and their investments. The biggest single factor in that investment is the QB.

Some things don't even need to be said anymore. I heard a statement this AM that made me laugh a bit. "There is an INDEPENDENT doctor, assigned to EACH TEAM". Talk about a contradiction. Yeah, he isn't PAID by the team, but the doctor is assigned to watch players for this specific team. But you don't have to tell the team doctor to make sure the QB passes concussion protocol so your team can win. They already know it. One of the ex-Patriot players commended the team on how they handled his similar concussion by putting him on IR, despite the fact that he wanted to keep playing. But being careful with Joe Lineman's concussion is much easier than being careful with Tom Brady's. Lineman misses the year, you go on with the season. Starting QB misses the year, you get a high draft pick. Doctors know this, teams know this, owners know this, all are affected by the financial impact of NOT having star QBs on the field.

The players know they have a short shelf life. They don't care if their quality of life is affected after 50 if they can maximize their earnings while in their 20s.

With the extreme caveat that I'm not a doctor and I've never knowingly had a concussion....I have had a back injury (surgery in my future) and I've had trouble getting up and straightening my back, but I've never had wobbly knees from back pain. I've never had back pain cause me to shake my head as if there were cobwebs to shake off, after standing up.

I won't discount that there is a possibility Tua could have passed concussion protocols, especially right after it happened. I also won't discount that he could have "faked" not having a concussion by knowing how to respond to questions and the various testing. He also could have not told anyone if he was having symptoms all week. He played well after coming back Sunday, and showed no signs of concussion after the stumble, but I'd be willing to bet he did suffer a concussion Sunday.

Basically, it could be on any number of the player, doctors, coaches, etc. to all or no extent. But it's pretty clear someone screwed up badly and this kid's livelihood is what has to suffer because of it.

Even if it was initially a back issue, then the symptoms/behavior he was displaying still warranted him being taken out of the game (in my totally uneducated opinion). That their response was basically, "no, don't worry, it was his BACK that made him look like he was losing control and ragdolling all over the place; it's a good thing he went back out there and we won!" is practically horsefeathering sociopathic.

And along the lines of what raw is saying, there's no horsefeathering fixing this. Anyone talking about how they need more impartial medical advisors and the like aren't being unrealistic at all; in this day and age, any medical professional who can be blamed by the horsefeathering lunatic fans for "making" a star player leave a game are going to be subjected to ungodly amounts of harassment doxxing, death threats, and horsefeathers knows what else. You're only ever going to mostly find Dr. Nick types willing to do this horsefeathers.

I'm really interested to see how this is handled from here. I know the NFLPA investigation won't lead to horsefeathers. But how does Miami handle him. I'd guess it's a pretty solid sign that the doctors in Cincy allowed him to fly back home. I believe when a fighter is knocked on in a similar pose, they have to sit out for 6 weeks. I have 0 doubt that Tua will play again this season. But I think the pressure now is on Miami to put him on short-term IR at the very least for 4 weeks and maybe even give him a couple weeks of practice before bringing him back.

I was mildly surprised that Tua was allowed to stay in the game on Sunday. It's happened before. The in-game concussion protocols obviously don't work. I was slightly more surprised he was allowed to suit up last night. I was most surprised by the angles of his fingers. Never seen that in a fencing responce before. I've only ever seen that in Grand Mal seizures.

The NFL found their patsy to blame. I wonder if they’re paying him under the table to keep his mouth shut & take the fall.

Wouldn’t surprise me if his work is covered under an NDA or something.

Sluggish starts, multiple penalties, turnovers, blown coverages. The Saints are a poorly coached team. They’re going to completely waste their best run of great defenses since the Dome Patrol in the early 90’s.

Saints always seem to have the "injury bug". And horsefeathers the last 2 seasons at QB doesn't help, regardless of the HC.
