Kinda bummed the bangles lost. I don't hate the Rams, but it would have been a pretty incredible run by Cincy

I feel like had Burrow not gotten a knee injury, we would have at least had OT.

Or if OBJ doesn't get injured, the Rams win by 10

Yea definitely don't feel like Cinci can go down feeling cheating. Each team got some breaks good or bad and had a chance to win.

Yup, good SB. If Cincy had pulled it off, I wonder if they would have given the MVP to Higgins? Probably would have been Burrow, but I had a 60-1 bet on Higgins.

It was good to see Stafford get it, and Donald stepped up in the biggest moments.

Burrow and Cincy will be competitive for years if they figure out their pass protection. Last night the Rams figured out what they were doing and after that Joe really didn't have much chance to work his magic.

Detroit fans, now know their FO and coaches are so bad that they ruined a great QB. How many teams get over a decade of a Super Bowl quality QB and still suck over a long period? A few, but not many.

Yes, for all the complaining about the Bears (and rightfully so), they aren't in the category of the Lions. They had Stafford and Calvin Johnson for 7 years. They never won a playoff game.

Yeah, wasn’t it 1 sack in the first half and 6 after? And that’s not counting the final play when Burrow was about to get sacked. It was some point in the 2nd half they said the Rams had 3 or 4 recently and only 1 before it.

Bengals has issues with the OLine all year so kind of fitting they lost at them end because they couldn’t hold up on two plays with a yard to gain.

I don't recall the exact numbers but it did all seem to come apart for the Bengals OLine at once. Collinsworth pointed out that LA had made an adjustment to Cincy's double team of Donald, and after that Joe was seemingly harrassed on every pass.

Good to see Floyd get a ring too, by the way.

Thank God the Bears hired a GM that knows the importance of an offensive line.

Yea well they got that far with a horsefeathers one, so I'll take whatever OLine you give me if I get Ja'Marr Chase too.

(and really they just messed up the Round 2 pick. If it's Humphrey are they hoisting the Lombardi trophy?)

Is Aaron Donald the best defensive player ever? Surely he's in the same conversation as Lawrence Taylor at this point, right?

More like Alan Page, Joe Greene, or Reggie White than LT.

Reggie is the only one I'd put next to LT or Donald

There isn’t a list of defensive GOATS that doesn’t include LT. Reggie White was incredible but LT was on his own planet. Personally, I’d put Donald there with Reggie White, Ray Lewis and Mean Joe. I can’t speak at all to Page, Butkus, Nitchke, etc.

LT, Reggie and Ray Lewis were the biggest personalities on great defenses. I am not saying they suck or arent great, but I think they all get a bit more credit because of that

LT changed the 3-4 OLB position. He more or less invented the swipe at the QBs throwing arm from the blindside to create fumbles. I think LT is truly the best defensive player I've seen. Reggie was the most unstoppable force. He'd throw linemen (literally pick them up off the ground) with 1 hand. Ray Lewis probably gets more credit that he should, but he kind of willed his team to a championship and was the best at his position, which was loaded with talent, when he played.

Not playoff related, but this Carson Wentz stuff is interesting. Colts ready to move on, after giving up a 1st round pick + for him. Can't help but feeling bad for Wentz. MVP level player in his 2nd year, before ACL tear. Came back the next year and was really good, then got hurt again. His backup wins the Superbowl. He was basically back at 2019 level of play this year, putting the disasterous 2020 behind him. He's not a terrible QB, and it feels like the Colts were in denial of what he actually was to give up a 1st for him and then to be so quickly disappointed in his performance.

I have no idea what to think about Wentz. I can tell you his stats do not tell you how awful he was for the last stretch of the season. There were plays to be made on the field, and Wentz was so inaccurate that they wouldn't be close. Throws behind receivers when they weren't supposed to be, throws too high. It was really, really bad.

However, he didn't look like that for a stretch in the middle of the season. In the middle of the season, he would certainly have his Carson Wentz type of plays where he would take a crazy chance. But he also had long stretches of really good play.

He did have COVID before the last two games which absolutely could have affected his play. But he started struggling before that point. Hence my struggle to figure out how to categorize him.
