so how did we look

Pulled away with a good stretch in the 3rd playing aggressive D and got points off turnovers. Toronto never really got it close after that.

With tonight’s win the Bulls clinched at least a play-in game at minimum.

Wouldn't quite say clinched but were 95% of the way there. Bulls still have the 7th hardest remaining schedule vs. 21st for Toronto and 16th for Cleveland. Next 5 are on the road where the Bulls are not nearly as good, but I'd say 2-3 on the road trip will make me feel pretty solid about finishing on the top 6. Definitely 2 or 3 very winnable games on the trip (which is @ Milwaukee, @ New Orleans, @ Cleveland, @ New York, @ Washington)

After that 5 of the remaining 6 are at home, albeit against very strong opponents but If we're still 2-3 games up at that point I'll exhale lol

No, the play-in at a minimum is clinched, since they have 42 wins and Washington/NY have 41 losses. So there will be postseason basketball for the Bulls for the first time in a while.

I completely read that wrong. I read it as the win effectively clinches (not literally, just figuratively) us staying out of the play in. Yes, clinched at least the play in which is awesome.

Lol. I didn't watch the game, just the highlights afterwards. I don't really care about the stats w/ Patrick Williams right now and I'm just glad he's back. He brings positive energy/hustle, and as much as I love Caruso and his defensive intensity, I think PWill has a chance to be our most impactful defender. Caruso can't really matchup against bigs and stronger players in the post/wing area.

Hopefully, the confidence keeps growing and the minutes keep rising for him. The Bulls will need his defensive skills in the postseason.

I wonder how the end of this season is going to affect the offseason plans. Where do you go from here? Do you build on this core, do you maybe try to replace one of them? It’s a really weird situation the Bulls are in especially with Zach a FA.

What can you realistically do? I’m open to making moves, but I’m not getting rid of Zach. You’re not getting much for Vuc. I like the chemistry with DD. Pray PAW stays healthy and elevates his game next year?

Also, I don’t want to make excuses but the Lonzo injury has been killer. I’ve probably said this before, but the Bulls lack consistent VOLUME 3 point shooting. Lonzo gave you that (7.4 3PA/game). He also provided some easy points in transition and, of course, the defense. He’s arguably the most irreplaceable player on the team.

Yeah, Lonzo is sorely missed but I think even with him this team is missing what’s needed to win a title. I think we need to upgrade from Vooch but have no idea how feasible that really is. DeRozan seems to be running out of gas after carrying the team for so long. Zach clearly isn’t 100% and that is affecting his game IMO. Coby is what he is but I think it’s reasonable to expect continued growth from Ayo and PWill still has a lot of room for improvement too.

I don’t doubt he’s important just like AC was very important. Lonzo probably more so. But I mean like we just lost to the Middletonless Bucks by 29. Last week we lost to the Suns without Paul and Crowder by 27. I’m just not sure Lonzo is going to be enough to compete with these teams.

Having an ice cold DeRozan doesn't help. When he's off, there isn't much to pick up the slack. Levine still isn't 100%. He's showing a bit more quickness of late, but he seems tentative sometimes when the shot is there.

Play in vs the Nets and the Hawks incoming.

losing 2 straight home elimination games would be a fitting end to this season. just like the stupid ass cubs

Nice road win by the Bulls to go up 2 games on Cleveland and own the tiebreaker by winning the season series.

On the Road vs NY and Washington on Monday and Tuesday, hopefully they can take those 2 with a tough final stretch after that.

As bad as they’ve been lately, they’ve won their 2 biggest games during this stretch, games they had to have to stay ahead of the play-in. Gotta give them credit.

Great first half. Terrible second half outside of the last few minutes. I hope they continue trying to blitz the PnR and switch up their coverage.

I think the need is pretty clear for next year. A big who can spell or play next to Vuc who can defend and protect the rim. Hopefully they sign someone and draft a big as well.

A big who can defend and protect the rim in a trade for Vuc. I think Vuc is gone. I think a rim protector at the 5 and then a small ball 5 that can knock down outside shots to replace Vuc would be the ideal makeup with the rest of the team. Basically, a guy like Tristan Thompson for the starting lineup, and they still need a player like we were all talking about before the trade deadline.

and aside from signing demar there isn’t really any evidence that AKME is good either

dire stuff

Caruso and Lonzo were also good gets.

Somehow this team has become worse as they became healthier.

lonzo is a good player but we're seeing the consequences of investing in a guy who is always hurt

at this point i'm over this season and i'm now worrying about zach leaving
