Now 1-19 against the top 7 records in the league with a combined point differential of -269 (average of -13 per game)

Our point differential in the last 3 games against those teams is -73. Yeesh

Good news (sarcastic) is the next 2 games are against that group (Milwaukee and Boston). Still in great shape to make the top 6 but it’s kind of hard to care knowing what’s awaiting us and what little upside the team has in its current form.

it sucks all the offseason haters were basically right about this team. the record is better than expected due to early season magic from demar, but the team we currently put out on the floor is just not good. just so many flaws and bad coaching.

how do we shake things up in the offseason? feels like we mortgaged the future to be.... this.

I think AKME is good at maneuvering within the cap but a lot of our capital was eaten up. Pat Williams coming back may hurt his trade value and Coby’s is destroyed with his recent play. Vuc can be an ok chip as he’s expiring and flaws aside is still relatively productive, he just needs the right situation.

I mean would they consider a S+T of LaVine? I know that’s a very unpopular suggestion but I’m not sure how far the Bulls can go with their 2 best players being 1 way players. But ultimately it seems stupid to give up a 24 year old multi-time all star so we can kill that idea. I’m not saying I’m in favor of it either, just thinking about potential ways to improve the team and not get stuck in purgatory.

I bet AKME takes a shot at trading for Anthony Davis also

What’s this “future” that was mortgaged? The 8th pick in the 21 draft and a likely non-lotto 23 pick? We likely will end up with the Blazers FRP at some point before 2028 too. If Lonzo doesn’t get hurt the Bulls are likely a top 3 team in the East and win 50+ games. They were a 22-43 team when AKME took over less than 2 years ago.

That said, Billy has to fix the defense or he should be gone after next season.

Not surprising. But yep, it’s over. Not that a hobbled Zach and Lonzo would have gotten very far, but was just hoping for one entertaining series. That’s looking pretty unlikely now. Disappointing.

Lonzo has been shut down but I think they're just saving Zach for the playoffs at this point. The Bulls appear to be locked into either the 5 or 6 seed regardless so getting guys rest is hopefully the MO for this final week.

I know this last 1/3 of the season has been a real wet fart but hopefully these guys can get fired back up for the playoffs.

Usually when there is a report of a player being "shut down for the remainder of the season" that also covers the playoffs. They usually need some time to get their conditioning back and get into game-shape and the right mindset. Maybe he could pull off a miraculous Kyle Schwarber-like return if the Bulls made a deep run in the playoffs, but I doubt it.

EDIT: Huh, I thought he was talking about Lonzo there for some reason.

He was talking about Zach, not Lonzo.

And I was referring to Zach clearly not being himself most nights over the past few months, not resting tonight vs Milwaukee.

Yeah, thanks. I agree that the Bulls won't do much and probably lose in the first-round, but it could still be an entertaining series (maybe 2-4 series loss with some close games). Miami and Milwaukee would absolutely destroy us and probably Philly too.

I’ve seriously never seen a team that gets blown out almost literally every single time they play an elite team, much less a team that will end up as a top 6 seed. Something bizarre is happening.

I’m sure the heavily concentration of their hardest games coming at the end of the season when they struggled with health plays into it but how is it possible that we never seem to even be able to catch a team on an off night? I mean to compare we are 1-20 assuming we don’t come back tonight against the top 7 teams in the league by win percentage and 44-13 against everyone else. I’ve never seen a disparity that bad

I've only been able to watch a handful of games and I haven't seen a single win lol

But what I do see is so ugly. Teams know exactly what we are trying to do, what spot DeRozan is trying to get to, that Vuc is going to put up a shot immediately after he receives the ball in the post and not get any closer to the basket, etc. You can see their preparation in their anticipation, how they jump the pass lane before we even see it. There's no fluidity to the offense, rarely more than 2-3 passes before we just give up and chuck it.

Then on defense it is straight up like men vs boys, giving up nothing but high% shots and uncontested 3s.

They might know where Demar is going, but he was 16-26 with 40 points. Demar wasn’t stopped. Vuj was the problem. 3-19 and let Lopez get 28.

Yeah well I posted that in the 2nd qtr I believe but I wasn't just talking about that game anyway.

But agree that Vuc had yet another atrocious game. The paint is a free-for-all when he's on the floor. It's ridiculous.

Lonzo now officially done for the season. No surprise, though. 3 regular season and probably no more than 5 or 6 playoff games left anyway.

Found the optimist

I hate to admit it but I lost any emotional attachment to this team a few games ago. The last time the Bulls made the playoffs I think I watched like 10 minutes total. Feeling the same way this year

Charlotte has started 11-11 including 2-2 from 56% ft shooter Plumlee. Also LaMelo made a 3 after he stepped out and a floater that was called off because a foul before the shot. So they made the first 15 shots they threw up in any fashion before their first miss.
