Zo is an important glue guy on this team but between Ayo, Coby and Caruso coming back they should be able to weather this one ok. Provided Zach comes back in relatively short order as well.

The playoffs were really a war of attrition last year. I'm ok with the Bulls being cautious with injuries if that helps them get to April and May healthy.

It will be really interesting to see what they do before the trade deadline. Even if they figure Pat is coming back you know they have to make a move for a big of some capacity.

So is Pat coming back? I hadn't heard definitively either way since it was initially thought he'd be lost for the season.

The NBA denied the Bulls request for a Disabled Players Exemption that is only usually approved for players lost for the season, so it seems like the NBA believes he can return. Last week Billy Donovan said he isn't even able to dribble yet so if he does return it sounds like he's still aways off.

Yeah I think his initial timeline was 4-6 months, which on the aggressive side would have him back sometime in March.

It's an upper body injury so there's part of me that thinks he should be able to keep himself in decent shape during this time? I think the plan is for now to hope he can help in the playoffs.

I wonder if this is the situation Rose was in (IIRC) where he can either remove it and come back sooner or repair it and take a lot longer.

Or maybe it's so minor that rest is all that's required.

Now you can’t trade Coby for a PF even if you wanted to. Maybe it’s for the best assuming Patrick Williams comes back healthy.

I could squint and see them really liking Ayo as the offense off the bench (along with Vuc as a second string killer if they pick up a big), and hoping they can get by with Zach/Ayo/some veteran FA signing at the point until March. But as I type that I realize we don't know much about Zach's timeline. Though as I type that I realize that if Zach is out for an extended period of time our expectations are probably significantly lowered anyways. Probably just stay the course for the time being, the minutes will be a great opportunity for Coby and Ayo, see where we're at in a couple weeks.

They expect Zach to play Wednesday at this point.

Still think we should take a smaller swing. Like PJ Washington, maybe Ibaka. Hell grab Milsap if possible. We are in the driver's seat. We can keep a HCA spot without going for Grant, for example. And Coby still has plenty of development to come. Even if he's just a shooter, his splits have been elite lately. 55/45/92 for a month is ridiculous.

Yeah, I'd get Millsap for sure if they can make that happen. I was kind of wanting a big splash move, but now I think that can wait a year. This team jelled pretty quickly, next season they could be even better together, and with Pat Williams fully healthy. Also, Vooch would be an expiring and have more trade value than he does now if he's still being weird.

I don't know how Caruso's shoulder isn't separated, but he's still in the game. Dirty foul and he landed right on his shoulder and bounced off the ground he hit the deck so hard.

What the heck happened to Ayo tonight? d was still fine but he was extremely tentative and afraid to shoot. Kept passing up wide open 3s to kick it to Coby who was 0-9 from 3. Passed up another open 3 down 4 late in favor of Vuc shooting a 3. It took him 4 seconds of standing around Middleton to realize that Vuc isn’t fouling him because he has 5 fouls.

I mean it’s one game, not a big deal, but it didn’t look like the same player out there
