lol. But seriously if they give Fields time to throw he can make dimes like he made today on the regular. I’m confident in Mooney having the ability to get open downfield and ARob can be the possession receiver with obvious downfield ability also

No idea if this is legit but there are other Twitter doctors (looks like legit doctors on Twitter) that are saying the same thing. If true it’s a 1-4 week injury depending on severity I think

Thats relatively good news if true, but still enough for me to very confidently say the Bears will be 2-6.

I’d probably think that even if healthy. Williams has been running well though he is a different runner than Montgomery. I’d feel better if Cohen was alive

Is Cohen going to be back week 7?

Nagy confirmed Lazor called the plays

Can we please lay Nagy’s fantasy about being an NFL play caller to rest now, Jeebus.

His pride is taking a huge hit. Looks like Fields is going to start next week, but Nagy wouldn’t commit.

That was a lot of fun. We unfortunately missed the first couple drives as we waited at the gate for a friend of ours but the first game in person: fun.

Fields was overall very good. Was obvious he held onto the ball a little too long on a handful of plays, and the tipped interception was not a great decision to throw right a Dlineman. But on the whole he impressed.

Hope Montgomery is alright. Hope to see more Fields.

It was obvious. Nagy had his play card but rarely looked at it. Also at one point Fields motioned up to the coaching box when he couldn’t hear the play call

What a horsefeathering weirdo. Seriously, does he think being the offensive play caller is the only way to be a successful coach? Does he know Belichick doesn’t call plays on offense or defense or several other well regarded coaches?

What? The guy was getting blocked and jumped to put his hand in the passing lane. It was also a pick play on 3rd down with 1 read that was wide open.

Yeah the tipped pass didn't bother me. The only glaringly bad thing he did was holding the ball loose on that strip.

I give Nagy credit for keeping the team together and not folding after the losing streak last year. He has some good coachiness. The players play hard for him. I get it, he was brought it to fix the offense and he has failed at that. It’s a shot at your pride when Lazor is clearly better at doing what you were called in to do. It’s beneficial for the team for Nagy to not be calling plays. Yes, be involved in putting the game plan together. But for the sake of the team, just publicly admit that Lazor is the man on Sundays.

This is exactly it. I’ve commented before on Nagy’s leadership abilities. The team mostly seems to like him and play hard for him. But the fact that he’s so hung up on playcalling to the point where he was willing to go down with the ship says a lot about his ego and his ability to make the best decisions for the team. If he steps away from playcalling completely I’m willing to have at least a little patience with him.

He’s going to be calling games again before too long. Nothing Nagy has done so far would say otherwise.

What a game from Mooney today. I know people were expecting big things from him this year but given the bears inability to develop offensive players ever I reserved my judgement about how good he could be. Watching him get open as well as he did today and making difficult catches was a thing of beauty. No surprise that Fields seems to favor him over ARob.

Yeah, Fields isn't a big anticipation guy. He's a QB that's going to throw it when he sees his guy open and getting separation. So, Robinson not getting a ton of separation isn't going to be the guy Fields targets a ton against man coverage. ARob's targets today were mostly against zone coverage. At Ohio St, Fields' WRs were speedy, separation guys moreso than possession WRs.

I compare Fields' game a lot to Deshaun Watson. I think they're very similar style QBs in that they hold onto the ball for the last possible second. They are both great runners but aren't run first guys at all. And Watson was good with a high volume possession WR (Hopkins), but actually got better when they went to an all speedy, separation type of WR corps last year. So, the Robinson decision this offseason is going to be really interesting. If they keep Robinson, he's almost certain to suffer statistically going from bad QBs that rely on him to bail them out vs. a QB that's looking for separation. But if they lose Robinson, they almost certainly are going to downgrade from what is already a lackluster WR group.
