At least Javy went out taunting Garrett...but really, he did so many awesome things, it was inevitable he was going to exit while having recently been a badass.

Very pleased with my choice to not have watched a single Cub game on tv this year. Extremely displeased that I already bought tickets for next week's games in Denver.

I'm not ok and I won't be. This horsefeathering sucks.

Yeah, my all-time favorite baseball player. My son's as well. Baez should have been here his entire career. Don't care about his flaws. At all.

Got tired of watching Javy offer up at every pitch. Seriously, opposing pitchers could balk, twitch or sneeze and Baez would still swing. His baseball IQ was through the roof except with a bat in his hand.

Armstrong can't be the only return, right?

why would you expect more?

mets fans seem to be pissed about this

Two ML'ers for one 19 year old isn't a very common swap

Trevor Williams is barely a ML'er

Sigh...I'd convinced myself that he'd be the one to not get traded. Obligatory "maybe he'll resign in the offseason"

Sad day.

I'd question it less if the 19 year old wasn't also out for the season with a shoulder injury

I cannot believe anyone here does not love Javy, even if they say he swings and misses or whatever the hell. He is the coolest baseballer alive, and we all know it.

Yeah, feel free to get nostalgic about the World Series team and the coolness of some of the players you like, but also try not to forget this team has horsefeathering blown for a while with all of these guys as the core parts.

It's fine by me for anyone to feel this way, but the way I look at it, the Cubs won the WS and I'm mostly cool with whatever so long as A) I like the players I'm rooting for and B) that's it. Of course, winning makes me like players, but Javy had a lifetime pass no matter how many Ls the Cubs racked up, or swinging Ks he committed. I was pissed when we traded Yu, but now I'm just unteathered.

i love him, but i don't love the player he's become

I'm bummed he's hurt, but without that injury he isn't available. He would have safely been a top 100 guy.

who?

PCA the prospect.

sorry, I figured it out in the other thread, whats wrong with PCA?

Out for the year with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder.

KB leaving has had the air of inevitability (for me) for years, Rizzo is nearing the end of the road, but I thought Javy would be the one to stay, and I hate this. Don't hate the trade, but that it got to this point.

This is the worst of the three for me.

I'm ok with this provided they go all out to extend Bryant (but I'm extremely skeptical they will)

well this took a blow within a couple hours

I don't mind this trade, but they better have reviewed those medicals a million and one times. I still might've preferred a gamble on power, but I guess we can't be certain if guys like Vientos were really offered, despite being heavily rumored.

That said, we have to be realistic - it's a half season of Javy and Trevor Williams. Getting a quality asset like PCA is worth the gamble.

100% Agree - With Boras involved I just assumed Bryant was gone - Rizzo seems like he's on the downside but I feel with Javy the best is still yet to come. Trying not to head over to YouTube and spend the rest of the night watching El Mago clips.
