I live in LA and get to see the Lakers quite a bit. Russ is hilarious, just zero awareness in all situations. Plus as you can tell he might need glasses too. I can’t believe they gave up anything of value for this guy and it’s likely going to cost Vogel his job (who surely wanted nothing to do with Westbrook in the first place).

Nets beat the Wizards by 1 point. Halfway through the 4th quarter Dinwiddie threw a simple pass to Kuzma... And the Nets Asst Coach blatantly reached over the court and tipped the pass, causing a turnover... And refs inexplicably missed it.

 

Something you will likely never see happen again. The league should be embarrassed they somehow didn't realize this happened.

Yep. Didn't like the move when it happened and it's played out about as poorly as could be expected. The fit never made sense. How much they gave up didn't make sense. They could have made the Buddy Hield trade and kept more assets (like KCP and Caruso). They could have gotten DeRozan, which would have been a much better fit.

 

And yeah, sucks for Vogel that he's going to be the fall guy. It's a poorly constructed team. There's nothing he could have done to make this team a true contender. I know LeBron was hurt earlier and AD is out now but it's not like they were playing well with everyone healthy anyway.

He's going to do what every other player does which is shoot a long shot except the difference is he fucking sucks at it.

Since I am all about optimism for New Orleans sports teams today, this is a GREAT trade for the Pels. Losing Hart sucks, but a lineup of CJ, Herb Jones, Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas with Zion coming in the next couple of weeks is pretty salty. The Pels have been playing great ball the last month or so and have climbed back into the play-in game.

Is it possible he wasn’t making it up? Sure. But based on all of his actions since the summer and the timing of when he claimed to have mental health issues (he returned to the team so he would stop getting fined, then got suspended for conduct detrimental to the team and then claimed to have mental health issues) I think it way way more likely he did it to keep getting paid. It worked because the Sixers stopped fining him for a bit before resuming the fines, though not fining him nearly as much.

 

Is refusing to shoot because you can’t shoot a mental health issue? I suppose to some extent it is, like a baseball player having the yips. But quitting on your team and refusing to even try to get better all because they criticized you after the playoffs isn’t a mental health issue.

On another note, apparently Harden was picked last among the reserves in the ASG draft. Durant even took Gobert with his last pick instead of Harden. That’s some good stuff.

It was absolutely hilarious. Barkley was the main one to start busting balls about the elephant in the room and then everyone else jumped in. KD was stone faced for most of it which made it even funnier.
