I’m ambivalent about this. I’m glad they moved up to get their guy and didn’t reach to get the last guy remaining.

I don’t like giving up the first rounder next year.

And I don’t like that Pace and Nagy have all sorts of incentive to start Fields before he’s ready and before they’ve had a chance to build any support around him.

It feels to me like Fields is being set up to fail here, pushed to start too soon with a bad offensive line and not enough weapons around him. I’d feel much better about this if this were the first year of the coach/GM regime and not (likely) the last.

This is starting to get into a realistic trade scenario for Fields

I bet the Patriots do it first

Bet you're wrong. :D

Bears pleasantly surprise me for the first time in my life

yeah raw is supposed to hang dong now

lol - oh yeah.

that's why not to check on facebook. got it.

Explanation for someone who doesn’t go in the Bears threads (I assume that’s where it happened)?

Aaron still needs to get shipped

If this night ends in Justin Fields as a Bear and Aaron Rodgers not a Packer, I will post a full frontal nude on Facebook and tag my entire family.

Well, this is a big reason why I would rather have had the “next” GM make the QB pick. But the reality is, Pace is the GM, we don’t really know the Bears are even thinking past him yet, and this is an actual legitimate 1st round talent.

I’m happy Pace made a QB pick that I’m on board with, basically. I didn’t have much faith he could do it.

He said that if the night ended with Fields on the Bears and Rogers off the Packers that he'd strip naked, post pictures of himself on Facebook and even tag his family members.

Amazing they get Jones without a trade.

Patriots and Steelers consistently have Pro Bowlers fall into their laps in these drafts.

Thank god. Mac seems like a poor man’s Andy Dalton.

If the Patriots/Belichick like him, I'm worried that he's more than Andy Dalton

You just know that in 21 years we're going to be watching a Mac Jones ESPN special about the 4 forgotten QB'S selected before him. Edited by cwood218

Jones is Chad Pennington and I mean that in a good way until someone blows up his shoulder

I’ve heard comps to Drew Brees. To me, there is only one Brees, and hundreds of un athletic, so so armed “touch” QBs that flame out.

So I was so excited I didnt think through the trade. Did the Bears give up way too much? I'm fine with it as I said before the draft but still

I'd say it looks more like a 20 to 8 or 9 trade than a 20 to 11. But it's all about the player. So f it, IMO.

Same as last time. It's only too much if he busts.

The Trubisky trade was too much unless he was a HOF’er.
