Alex Lange with “closer” duties tonight. Tigers up 4-3 over the White Sox in the 9th.

It would hurt less if they would have resigned Nick like they should have.

Does Alex Lange really hurt, though?

Yeah, I'm happy for the guy, but I'm not sure he's even better than Trevor Megill. When I look at the Tigers and think about regrettable trades, I look much more in Candelario's direction.

So yesterday at the Trop was a lot of fun.

Highlights include:

Free parking at the brewery less than a 10 minute walk from the park

Rays kicked their asses but I got to see some 113 bullets from Vlad

First time being in attendance for an ejection(s) and benches clearing, although no fisticuffs

First time I saw a team clinch in person, although only a playoff spot so there was not a huge celebration. Weird seeing it being business as usual for the Rays

Group pic with DJ Kitty

Lowlights:

8500 people don't make a lot of noise

Their sound system is straight trash. There are no lows at all and the speakers at the roof sound like that kid pushing a Civic with house speakers in the back.

Not sitting where a friend was because if I were I would have caught the ball Arozarena threw into the crowd between innings that cleared his hand by just a few inches and I'm about a foot taller than him and would have had it easily

Things looking good but not great on the game 163 chaos front. Blue Jays and Red Sox are doing their part, while the Mariners are choking and the Yankees/Rays are tied

I really want the Dodgers to win against the Cards, so I can tell all my Cardinals fan friends (living in southern IL, it's hard to avoid) that they may have had a better overall season, but the Cubs still won more games in October than they did

It will be delightful when either the Cardinals or Dodgers are out of the playoffs come Thursday morning.
I'm rooting hard for the Cardinals. This may be the best opportunity for anyone to beat the Dodgers. Get rid of the Dodgers and then let KB's Giants destroy the Cards.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, the Diamondbacks win their final 2 games to lose the #1 pick on a tiebreaker to the Orioles.

I like the Giants chances of beating them

For somebody who is paid to write, he writes terribly. It was the first ever home run in the first plate appearance of the World Series, which is definitely not what he wrote.
