Saw a rumor of the Bears sniffing around Darnold. Trading Darnold before the trade deadline helps the Jets tank for Lawrence. They could do that easier with Trubisky, who is a free agent at the end of the year. Bears could be in a position to see Foles opt out of his deal, leaving them with no one and not any real solid prospects in the draft to start day 1 and little money to spend in free agency.

 

Reality is Foles is back for one more year at 8m in 2021 and Darnold could actually do some learning behind Foles. Darnold has at least one more year after this year and possibly two if they pick up his 5th year option.

 

Not saying it's ideal, but if Foles gets hurt, we have Trubisky with shattered confidence on top of all of his other inadequacies. Darnold playing for a team that doesn't entirely suck while also getting a change of scenery seems interesting. I don't watch the Jets enough to know if Darnold is a legit NFL starter, however.

Darnold's not going anywhere. This shoulder injury is most likelya precursor to his Drew Brees-esque rise from the ashes probably starting in as few as 8 days

I’m not sure Foles opting out is even a realistic scenario that is worth discussing. It would be like discussing what the Cubs should do at 1B if they don’t pick up Rizzo’s option. Oh crap that might actually happen with PTR.

As of now, they are planning to play Monday or Tuesday. I think it will be moved to another week.

 

Why doesn't the league just make a week 18 for covid? Jan 10th. Move the playoffs back a week and have 1 week instead of 2 between conference championship and SB?

Yeah, I'm the commissioner of our money fantasy league, and I'm having to text everyone each time there is a change. Ugh. I did create an extra IR spot so that Covid players can be placed there if their teams play anyway. We also changed our entry fee to only $50 instead of $150 knowing this season would have issues. Seems like they need to quarantine these teams if there is an chance of having a full season. It only takes one idiot. Luckily there are bye weeks now. Not sure what they will do once a team gets covid and their bye week has already been used.

Yea fantasy is a mess haha. Guys being on covid list and IR eligible is easy enough, but the uncertainty of when a game is being played 24 hours before first kickoffs on Sunday is going to make setting lineups screwy.
