As I was a toddler I wasn't following/don't remember watching the Bulls/Pistons late 80's early 90's run. I can't imagine how incredible that '91 ECF must have been to experience.

I remember savoring the sweep of Miami in 07 the year after they beat the Bulls in the playoffs. 91 vs Detroit must have been that times, I don't know, 200?

I was 12 when this was all going on in 1991, and that series was everything anyone ever talked about at school while it was happening. The closest feeling I could liken that to was the 2016 NLCS game 6 at Wrigley, where the Bulls jumped on the Pistons early and never let up, except for 4 games instead of 1. It was a week long party.

I think after 1990, we knew this was coming. the sweep made it all the sweeter. the other factor really was that other than the bears in 1985, no chicago team really ever really won anything and the bears dynasty was a bit like the 1990s braves.

I was at one of the 1990 games, I thought it was game 6 but I think it must have been game 3 - the bulls were down like 20 in the 3rd and stormed back to win and that was the start of the championships in my mind - after losing the first two games, they came off the mat and took Detroit to 7.

So apparently this guy passed away Sunday? RIP

I thought I read he died in January.

You are correct, I read the Athletic article wrong

episode 9 is gonna be good. that was a tough series

as a kid, that was the only of the 6 title seasons where i actually remember thinking they were going to lose

I honestly can't remember as a Pacers fan if we felt we were going to win. It was the 3rd time we had lost in game 7 of the ECF in 5 years, twice where we had shots to win in the final minutes.

That Bulls game was so dispiriting too. The Pacers kept getting stops, but simply couldn't get the rebound.

had high hopes for this thing and it has absolutely shattered them. 7 & 8 may have been the best episodes.

Can't get over him sitting in his locker, chomping on a cigar, playing with a bat, fantasizing about destroying BJ Armstrong.

But him going on to buy the Hornets to run them into the ground may have been going too far.

This has been sooo good. Just because we have so little content for a while after this I wouldn’t mind if someone took this and edited it to run more linearly and not all the time hopping (not that I mind the time hopping) but as a rewatch wouldn’t mind the styles switch.

That scene was so great. "I'm not mad. Why would I be mad?"

The director Jason Hehir explained and foretold this scene in an interview. He was asked when he realized how special this doc could potentially be and he brought up this story. He said Jordan never got emotional, and then that question was brought up and they had to break for 30 minutes.

The director is awesome too. He's really funny and entertaining and helps explain the backstory for this doc. It was incredibly difficult getting this made.

This Pacers fan thought we would win. This is my most disappointing of the ECF Game 7 losses because I felt this ECF was for the title. Pacers would have beaten Utah. Best team won, but man the Pacers were really good too.
