i completely forgot about ho grant being hoisted up after beating the bulls. 11 year old me was irate

that was my first year watching sports (pretty much spurred by the jordan comeback) and i was so horsefeathering mad about that. between the nick anderson play and then that, i HATED the magic as much as I've hated any of my teams' rivals since.

i imagine the satisfaction i felt at that sweep the next year is the closest thing I have to what people felt about beating detroit in 91.

Beating detroit in 91 was more like watching the Hawks beat Vancouver in 2010, we finally got past them. Plus we were going to the finals for the first time so it felt justified.

But beating Orlando just felt like pure revenge, and maybe a little greedy. It had an element of “ohhhh, this is how the 1% lives”

For some reason my mind had completely blanked on Jordan coming back mid-season. My brain had decided that he was out for 2 full years and came back at the start of 95-96

BTW, the 72-10 season was my senior year at DePaul, and despite my roommate and I being buried in work trying to graduate, we watched every single game that season

well, if you had started watching in 1989, you would have loved Nick Anderson and Horace Grant . . .

Nick was part of the flyin' Illini that went to the final four in 1989.

That was really, really unfunny.

I don't know if SNL was always unfunny and I didn't realize it or if it just got really unfunny but I couldn't agree more. Who tf thought people would laugh at that?

Sorry. I don't even remember what tweet that is for now?

EDIT: Correct. Yeah, I was debating posting it... SNL hasn't been that great since they started doing shows from home. It was related to 'TheLastDance' so I posted it in here.

The funniest thing to me is that Jordan's bum-ass around the house outfits are BY FAR the least offensive fashion choices the dude has made in a good 30 years.

and ordering Ahmad Rashad not to speak to Scott Burrell

My favorite 2 moments of the documentary were this and the security guard with the perm beating MJ in the quarters game and doing the shrug

Anyone honestly believe MJ when he says Pip would come back for 1 year if everyone else was? I honestly think there is no way he is coming back, even if it was like a 1 year $25m contract. That would ultimately cost him money long term as he’d be a year older looking for his long term payday. If it’s a long term deal like what he got in the S&T with Houston, I don’t see him coming back to a team he had been publicly asking to he traded from for at least 4 years knowing that they will likely be rebuilding after year 1.

The only way any of this happens is if Krause was fired. Maybe then Pippen could be convinced to come back. I mean he did in fact come back once Krause was fired in 2003.
