There's been talk that the Jays are having trouble getting guys to take their money because of how messy the early part of this season might be for international travel.

With how limited money is this offseason they're clearly going to be able to get some guys, but it may be if they strike out on all the FA stars they plan to do a couple mid level guys plus Bryant.

I'd love SWR, really big on him. Same with Miguel Hiraldo to a lesser extent.

I love this tweet...."than he appears to"...horsefeather you gd shill, who painted the picture using the league approved algorithm of salary/control/age/WAR in the first place?

He doesn't have a market because the Ricketts are the worst. Everyone knows they are unloading, so they have no leverage.

Why are there no rumors who would be the return for KB?

Journalistic integrity prevents mention of children by name without parental permission.

Was trying to think of a political dark money donation joke, but yours is a lot more succinct/better.

Good. If your options are $5M in prospects now or a 30% chance at $20M in prospects come July, take the latter. That's to say nothing about the impacts on actually competing.

I have generally assume at least one of him or Willson is going this offseason though. And so now that Realmuto has signed, we might start seeing more heat around Willson's name again.

Only two random Mets beat writers are talking about this at the moment. Curious if there’s any Cubs beat writers willing to add smoke to this fire.

I've generally been among the more pro "trade KB" people around these parts going back to last year, but I'd horsefeathering hate doing it right now. The timing is awful, since there's nothing really left to reinvest that money in. What are you going to spend that $20M on? Travis Shaw and James Paxton? At this point hold on til the deadline and hope for a strong first half.

Justin Turner and 1 of Odorizzi, Walker or Jake would be the only thing where I could see that we could come away with as good or better of a team with moving Bryant then using the money to add stuff.

That's true, though I'd wonder why the Mets wouldn't just nab Turner. I've gotta think if the Mets go for KB it's a sign Turner's heading back to LA.

It's funny, I just looked at Keith Law's assessment of the Mets' farm:

The Mets would have had a top-10 system had they not traded away so many prospects in the last three years, although trading a couple of lottery-ticket teenagers for Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrasco is a lot easier to swallow than trading Jarred Kelenic for Robinson Canó and Edwin Díaz was. It’s still a decent system despite all of those departures thanks to some shrewd draft strategy and big-ticket international signings that all look good in the early going. Their pool of talent aged 20 and under is impressive, just from a scouting standpoint, although those players have little to no track records on the field so far.

Jed's certainly has a type!

Hopefully, they're getting something in return from the Met's because I don't trust PTR to spend the money after dumping Bryant.

JD Davis and Familia or Betances are major league names I’ve seen mentioned in rumored deals since it sounds like the Mets want to dump some money.
