Today the Chicago Cubs start their ace Alec Mills against Mike Wacha. There’s some Wacha Seasame St. joke in there somewhere I think but I’m on my phone and the joke probably sucks. Just like a joke about how Mills is a fitting name for a cubs pitcher...Alec “Windy” Mills. I actually think I feel more comfortable with Mills rather than Hamels.

All horrible dad jokes aside the cubs need to horsefeathering win today. Win today and worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Don’t scoreboard watch. Just horsefeathering win and let’s have more bad dad jokes on Saturday.

Two threads is almost as bad as starting a thread with the wrong date.

Pretty much guarantees a loss.

I was just following Sofa’s request. I also posted in the game thread I’d get one up if the guy scheduled didn’t do it. I just wanted to give him time in case he wanted to last min.

I’m not handing out blame, just pointing out facts.

Oh I know. I’m not blaming anyone for anything, either. Just explaining why I waited and why I posted one.

Mods can feel free to merge/delete whatever

My bad, didn't see Weis's post in yesterday's game thread.

No problem - Sofa sent me PMs and I told him I'd give philosophizer until 12 to post a GT and then I would if he did not. I was at lunch and it was a bit later.

If anything the GT "drama" keeps our minds off of the waning playoff position. Let's keep avoiding reality as long as we can?

I’m not so mad about missing the playoffs as I think I am Cardinal/Brewer joy.

That's the worst thing about sports in general. It's hard to really enjoy the misery knowing it means some other turds are happy.

nobody enjoys misery regardless of anyone else's happiness, psycho.

that being said, yes, it's annoying as hell that they seemingly NEVER horsefeathering LOSE

I’m finding emotional attachment to teams in general to be quite draining. Wish I could just latch onto a story or something

Remember that one Scrubs episode where they tell you that 1 in 3 patients die and introduce you to three really cool patients? Then at the end, all three die because some days the odds don't even help you and Cox has a breakdown.

Wasn't it because Cox gave them all horsefeathering rabies and then a Fray song played?

Yes. But did Fray have other songs that would be notable enough for this to be "a Fray song" and just that one song? I honestly don't remember, not just being snarky.
