One thing the Bears have not experienced a lot this year is playing behind and almost never experienced was playing by more than 1 score behind. Could that be a concern if the Eagles strike early and take them out of their game plan? Well, these were the times they were more than 8 points down in a game:

@ARI: Down 14-0 in 1st won 16-14

vs NE: Down 38-24 with 8 mins left in game, lost 38-31

@NYG: Down 24-14 with 4 mins left in 3rd, lost 30-27 in OT

That’s it. In 2 of the cases they managed to claw back and tie/take the lead (one of them with the aid of a recovered onside kick), and in the other they were 1 yard from tying it (albeit via a completed Hail Mary). Seems like no matter what area you try to talk yourself into worrying about the Bears you can find stats that prove that the Bears have excelled in that area. And I don’t think there’s been a Bears team in the past 30 years you can say that about including 06.

16 games and in none of them the Bears were outplayed or outclassed. The NE game was the closest. So while it’s certainly possible the Bears play their worst game of the season and lose tomorrow, it’s just hard to imagine that happening

The 06 team had 3 of it's 4 losses by double digits (including Superbowl). I also seem to remember them being down 20-0 and 23-3 in another game that year.

Trey Burton questionable with a groin injury

Random...he probably did his job by giving the Bears some dirt on Peterson. Shaheen coming out party?

I worry more about losing Burton then 90% of our other receivers. Its not great.

Not enough speed to get the targets Burton would if Trey is out

Can’t hurt, but I’d hope Nagy has enough dirt on Peterson already

No Burton would suck. But he's been a near non-factor for a while now. Hasn't gone over 40 yards receiving since the Week 7. Only 2 TDs since then, after 4 in the first 6 games.

As for Jackson, Bush has played decently the last couple weeks. Where Jackson has the ball skills, Bush has tackled well, which may be more important today as Foles doesn't really throw a bunch of bad balls (though most of his INTs come in the middle of the field).

Be nice to get both in there today. But the Bears SHOULD be able to win this game without them. If neither is at least 85-90%, rather have all hands on deck next week, even though next week isn't guaranteed.

In his 2 years, Mitch has excelled when facing a bottom 10 passing defense. 65% completions, 1573 yards, 12 TDs, and 3 INTs....good for a 105.21 passer rating in 7 games. All 3 of those INTs came against Detroit last year, his very 1st divisional road game. The other 6 games have oddly enough come at home. 117.6 passer rating in 6 home games vs bottom 10 passing Ds. The Eagles come into this with the 3rd worst passing D in the league.

Sorry another post....

A lot of TV analysts are going on about the Bears gameplan in recent weeks to run the ball and take the ball out of Trubisky's hands. They've almost exclusively talked about Trubisky's ability to run and that he can't make mistakes throwing the ball. But I think the last 4 weeks' gameplans were designed to not show a ton for a team that knew they were likely going to the postseason. Also, trying not to get their QB hurt again. But I think Nagy opens it up today. Tarik Cohen had that 12 catch game against the Giants and hasn't had 13 touches in a game since the Rams. He had 6 catches or more in 6 of the first 12 games, and 6 of 12 with at least 6 carries. He's been toned down the last 4 weeks. I'd imagine they'll try to get him the ball early and often against a mediocre LB corps today, especially if no Burton.

The team leading the league in QB pressures/hits being the 3rd worst passing defense is quite the paradox

They were decimated by injuries early in the year, and are now at least vaguely healthy. Not at corner though. They already had a mediocre CB group to start the year, and then it got decimated. Cre'Von Leblanc is arguably their top guy, and he was waived by the damn Lions at midseason. If Mitch plays like he did last week, this *should* be a laugher.

I didn’t sell out all my moral reservations about football just to watch a wild card round flameout. Win, jerks.

Yeah feel similarly. Haven’t been excited for a football game like this in literally 8 years. Please win.

So.... Just throwing this out there. There was a story earlier this year about Burton having a panic attack when asked to throw the ball on a trick play similar to the Philly Special. Ended up having Cohen throwing the ball to tie the Giants game. Now the night before he is to play against Philly for the first time, comes up with an injury? I wonder if there's more anxiety going on with Burton.

Respectfully I feel like this is a reason why people don’t go public with mental health issues

Confident today although I have to admit that Trubisky throwing high / inaccurate is a concern for me.

Thrilled as hell to have Jackson back on D.
