zaidman with a really bizarre call to start off with on that bunt (before he reached safely he was yelling like he had just hit it onto waveland)

 

How hard is it to get a backup radio announcer who knows how to properly align the pitch of his/her voice to the importance of the play they are calling?

 

It's been a problem for like the last 4 guys they've had. The worst was still Sirott though. His tone and intensity would change several times during the same call

i don't particularly like coomer as a color guy, but i'm specifically referring to his play by play that would've been awful descriptively even for a televised broadcast

I think I've said this before, but Coomer's PBP is the equivalent of taking normal PBP and putting it through 7 different languages in Google Translate before going back to English.

Schildt is a dumbass manager. Got to deploy Garcia in the 9th vs the Cubs.

 

That extension on one good run was the best thing to ever happen to the Cubs.

I would honestly rather listen to 80's Bobcat Goldthwait in the booth than Coomer. (Gottfried is a wash.)

Oh, yeah. The few times I've heard him do PBP were painful.
