Well if they win it they are going to have to earn it. 3 of 4 against pretty good pitchers and Wainwright with the stupid curveball.

there is 0 (ZERO) reason for us not to horsefeathers wainwright's ass completely shut.

Why would they throw that pitch? Oh well. I still like the Cubs so I hope this gets them going.

What do you mean why did they throw it there? The Pirates took the gamble that Almora couldnt hit the horsefeathering ball in his sweetspot and they lost. He got JUUUUST enough of it

The Dodgers are gagging worse than us.

after 2 straight NLCS between them, it would be nice if they also choked into the Wild Card with us.

I don't have high hopes for the Cubs in the postseason. If we can beat the horsefeathering Redbirds and prevent them from getting in I'll take it and be happy with that.

Something needs to be done about Maddon. Theo and Jed need to sit down with him and tell him to get his horsefeathers together. I was fine with his stupid decision-making in the 2016 WS because we won it all, but it's clearly getting worse now.

We’re guaranteed to be at least tied for the best record in the NL going into the last weekend of the season. We just won a walkoff in extras. I’m trying to convince myself to enjoy this.

I'd really like to be a fly on the wall as Theo watches this non-sense. Theo doesn't seem like the type to sit back and let things be just because things are mostly ok. Maddon nearly mismanaged the team into a loss in Game 7, is clearly a current liability, and its only going to get worse.

Things make a lot more sense if you realize that Joe really does not care what happens. Maddon got his WS ring, and checked out. Back in '15 and '16, he was a hands off manager, but there were still things you could point at as being involved. Last year and this year, it seems like he's gone from hands off to not involved at all. You look at some of his answers in interviews, and wonder what his job is.

I keep thinking of the scene in Office Space where Tom is being interviewed by the Bobs and keeps going back to "but I'm a people person!"

What would you say you do here?

Maddon: I'm a player manager, I handle the players!

Yeah, but we're not firing him. That will never happen. We will offer him an extension at some point.

I just want Theo to micromanage Maddon and make him more accountable. He makes bad decisions and doesn't seem to ever: A.) Admit they were mistakes B.) More importantly, learn from those mistakes.

He isn't the worst manager or even close to that in MLB. We've witnessed so many bad managers (like Dusty) that I think we're overreacting a tad bit right now. Just needs some more guidance on lineup construction and micromanagement from above.

Make him the bench coach or the team's sommelier or something then. Stop babying him because he used to be a decent manager and get someone who can make in-game decisions.

I was also planning on doing EPatt, but after the 9th I've decided to retire from magic number posting

I wanted to do Jason Dubois, but GIS turned up nothing useful.
