And the top of the order goes down easily in the top of the 1st against Reed

Remembering the days the Cubs offense actually had a pulse and was fun to watch.

Seems so long ago

Who had Bote and Caratini starting at the corner infield for the Cubs in the middle of September with a 1.5 game lead in the division

I honestly don’t think you can even pencil Almora in on the roster next year, Bryce or not. There isn’t enough there to fall back on to think he might just be this shitty player he’s been the last few months

It's interesting. I always sense you hate Almora the most and I hate Russell the most.

I think the big difference is, I didn't have huge expectations for Almora, so him sucking doesn't suck as much as Addison Russell being worse than a good hitting pitcher.

I think Almora would be just fine as a cheap bench player. The problem is he gets too many starts & inexplicably hits too high in the order when he does. It's a manager issue for me. Not saying I'd shed a tear if he was moved, to be clear.

It would be great if the Cubs just exerted their offensive will on someone but they simply cannot right now. Also Victor Caratini, though he may be our hottest hitter, is playing first base.
