So the 3 pitchers we got to replace Jake/Lackey/whoever were a 5 inning pitcher, a guy who can’t go more than 20 pitches into a rehab start before reinjuring himself and a guy threatening to break the record for most BB/9 pretty much ever Edited by UMFan83

quintana should never pitch more than 5 innings.

I’m fine with him starting the 6th but basically pulls no him if any batter gets on

Stats and record prove this wrong, but damn, it sure feels like our team has been, and is, fading.

.500ish team since the break with a lot of sizable losses, an 8-1 record in 1 run games, almost every hitter is in considerable offensive slump save Rizzo and Zobrist and our starters save Hamels and sometimes Monty or Hendricks have been shelled or only good for 5 innings. It’s been a disaster but we’ve been able to keep our heads above water while we wait for the team to play better.

TJS so we can stop this horsefeathering garbage with him and for crying out loud go get someone so Chatwood can't pitch for this team

horsefeathers it he was throwing 94 just pitch him through the pain and fill him with cortisone for the playoffs.

i'm not sure the stats prove you wrong, the team as a whole over the last 30 days has a wOBA+ of 89 and is 15 runs worse than replacement offensively. (More recently its worse, cratering in the last two weeks with a 67 wOBA+ and a .226/.288/.341 line collectively)

The team is playing really, really badly lately. They've really gotten lucky with the schedule and some sequencing to just tread water. They have to play better or they're going to collapse.

Probably shouldn’t have started the 6th.

Should have taken him out after the first hit.

Inexcusable not to take him out after the walk.

at least joe goes with the right move with carl here

good chance to keep the game tied but the cubs are almost completely incapable of scoring so
