It would appear every Marquee road spring training broadcast is just picking up the feed from the other team's network. Pretty disappointing.

Pretty sure that has been the case at least since the pandemic. Might have done a few road broadcasts of their own before 2020 ST shut down, but yeah.

I know. Still a bummer. I want to say they did all the ST games home and road before the 2020 shutdown, but I could be wrong on that.

FWIW, the Dodgers broadcast every single spring training game with their own broadcast and tv crews, so its not necessarily a pandemic thing. I think the Cubs are trying to cut costs while saying that every game is broadcast.

The Cubs are making two appearances on the Apple TV+ Friday night games in the first half of the season:

@ Diamondbacks 5/13 (8:30 pm CT) and @ St. Louis 6/24 (7 pm CT).

The first-half games will not require an Apple TV+ subscription so while we have to use the app, we don't have to pay for the service to see either game.

Put em all on Apple+. At least then I'll be able to watch games without having to find a pirated stream or have cable.

Yet another game siphoned off Marquee, although this one will be for free on YouTube.

Does Marquee lose any money because of all these games that are taken off? There are probably safeguards in place I guess. But it does ruin one very minor benefit of Marquee - not having to figure out what channel the game is on. But instead of flipping between WGN, WCIU and NBCSN Chicago, you have to figure out what streaming platform its on and whether you subscribe to it.

Has anyone else failed to find the Marquee app on their Samsung TV? Had been using a Roku for the last couple years where I was able to find it without any issues, but now I'm just using the Samsung app store (which works for YTTV, Netflix, etc) but they don't seem to have Marquee. Do I really need to plug back in a Roku and then deal with switching inputs and everything? Why is this so impossibly difficult and stupid.

Yeah, I have the same issue with Bally Sports here in STL. Seems like most of those very specialized apps aren't available directly through the TV.

I know my pre 2016 Samsung doesn't support a lot of apps now. That could be the issue as well.

This one is brand new, pretty good quality. I went with their interface over sticking with the Roku I was using because I liked their remote and wanted to only have to use one and it didn't respond well to the Roku menu...figured over time I might have to switch to a third party that kept up with software updates, but I bought this tv back in January.

I stopped using the apps on my pre-2016 Samsung in favor of Amazon Fire boxes/sticks pretty quickly. They were hot garbage. The TV was too, for that matter; it broke 5 years in.

That has been my experience with most TV's and/or Blu-ray players that I have owned. It usually isn't even worth bothering with the apps, as they become outdated and obsolete much sooner than the TV's themselves. I have to say though that my experience with Sony TV's has been very good. My 4 year old Sony OLED still runs all the apps just as well as my Roku or Nvidia Shield TV.

I bought a Sony after the Samsung crapped out and I would agree. I was OK using their apps for about a year and probably still would be, but because I was having intermittent WiFi issues I got the new Fire stick last Black Friday.

I would never watch another game. Check out the comments. Have people lost the [expletive] mind?

Sutcliffe is annoying, but I can take him in small doses. If it's just the San Diego series and then JD comes back, I can live with that.

He's a homer and a meatball. What's not to love? #-o
