Does anyone know if Marquee broadcasts will be available online to authenticated users, like they were with NBC Sports?

Don't believe it's been officially announced, but since Sinclair owns the Fox Sports RSNs, which all have figured out in-market streaming AFAIK (I can stream FS Detroit games in-market), I have to assume the same will be true of Marquee.

You guys are so negative. The on air talent is going to be 10x better than what we’re used to. We lived with David Dejesus as the top non-broadcast analyst for years. It’s going to be fun.

The pre game and post game stuff and studio shows I don’t care about. Those are usually bad and they got some good names for that anyways that have ties to the org and have experience doing shows already (Pena, DeRosa, etc.). Throwing a third person in the booth with Len and JD is horsefeathering dumb and unnecessary though. They have great chemistry, they don’t need a wrench thrown in. If they want to throw a third person in the camera well or something like they’ve done with Glanville to chime in here and there, fine, but a third person in the booth for a whole broadcast is stupid.

I think it depends on how it’s executed tbh. It doesn’t work on national broadcasts in large part because broadcasters on national telecasts... don’t really say much. The big value of color commentators outside of explaining more details of what’s happening on the field is providing anecdotes from playing and helping listeners understand what it’s like to be in a given situation. If this is done well it will be a lot of fun.

Plus I think Len and JD have always done a pretty good job of integrating a third person into the booth (particularly given some of the people they have to deal with for the 7th inning stretch)

Im sure Len and JD are thrilled. I think Len is doing more Saturday Fox games so I wonder who will take pbp when he’s gone.

Chris Myers (the dude sideline reporter last night, if you're unfamiliar with the name). They announced it at Cubs Convention.

just think of what this organization is going to be when the on-field talent gets old and the super talented front office leaves

I'll take a medium-talented front office with passion and engagement over our current, can't-be-bothered-to-do-stuff geniuses.

Thanks. I think Len does a much better job when he does Cubs broadcasts. For some reason, he seems much more passive when he does the national broadcasts.

For what its worth, I think the 3 person booth is a terrible idea.

I would imagine that's because he has to appear neutral to both fan basis. When he's doing PBP for the team that pays him on the Cubs station and is broadcasting for one fan base, he can let the emotions fly a lot more.

just as i was starting to let the spring training clips/pictures wash the disgusting taste of this offseason away from my mouth, they go back to doing dumb bad horsefeathers.

"Go back" implies they ever stopped.

I wonder what the deal is with Kelly Crull. She seems well liked and respected. Many Cubs fans have been clamoring for her to be a part of the network. Yet she gets dropped from NBC Chicago and can’t seem to get hired for Marquee.

Does she still not work for NBC for Bulls stuff? Hero twitter bio says so and that she still works for them for Cubs stuff, which maybe they’ll keep her as a presence for Cubs reporting during the year?

Bring in Joe Carter and make it a crowded booth.

Josh Lewin too!

This would require billions of dollars in booth renovations. No money to field a winning team until 2095.

Off the field transgressions aside, Mark Grace is one of, if not my #1, all-time favorite Cubs. I hope he has his life together now and, if so, I'm glad he is getting another chance.

I read something yesterday that said he would still be doing analysis for the Diamondbacks as well. I'm not sure how that could possibly work.

with the ease of switching streaming providers I'm guessing Youtube won't be far behind this Hulu announcement.

I'm guessing the press release is a nudge at Youtube to get in line, same with them confirming no comcast for spring training opener.
