I'm assuming its the same thing as hitting a grounder to second with 2 outs. If the play is made at first it doesn't matter if the run scores first

I guess Adrian Gonzalez was really a trade/resign but I would include him there because they don't make that trade without him re-signing with Boston

I was thinking Adrian Gonzalez as well, but thought that the trade element would kinda exclude "FA signing". He really did perform over the course of that contract though, until age caught up in the last 2 years. Tons of upfront surplus value, above average-ish performance over the middle portion, and a "dont mess it up New York" at the very tail end.
