Rizzo can expect to get hit tomorrow. Should be fun

Yeah, hopefully on his back/ass and everyone moves on

You're talking about a team that intentionally threw at a pitcher in a playoff game. I'm going to assume there will be some serious intent because that was a dirty slide, IMO

Does anybody know how Gimenez rates as a game caller/pitch framer?

Does it take much to be an upgrade at framing over Willson???

But being a veteran of the position and having someone like Yu(in his heyday) tab him as a personal catcher I’m more than comfortable with him back there

It does not.

I'm intrigued. I wonder if Yu still has his arm in 10 days if this might help him. Maybe try him with Chatwood for the fun of it.

My gut says that play was dirty.

That being said, I think JD is right. That's a double play, and so Rizzo's slide should be treated the same way as a slide into 2b on a double play. In that sense, it's on Elias for being oblivious.

Yeah, I’m with you on that.

Pirate fans are so used to Hurdle’s butthurt ways, they’re booing cause Rizzo hasn’t been plunked

Surprised they didn’t hit Rizzo with the base open. Hopefully it means they don’t think it was dirty. But they’ll probably hit him tomorrow or Rodriguez or Cervelli will try to slide dirty on Javy/Addy

Impressive by the the Cubs today. Obviously, Monty was rested and set the tone, but for the offense to show some life when this team played last night and then right away the next day on the road is pretty great.

Oh I think it will be a combination of what you said.

There is no way they watch that and see Rizzo outside the baseline and then end up two steps inside the line to wipe out their guy and think it’s ok. Hurdle is probably purple in face with veins popping out at near aneurysm levels right now watching it

Pedro Strop = most underrated Cub of all-time?

Depends who you're talking to, but it's almost certainly Sosa or Ramirez.

Wait. How was Sosa underrrated?

Have you ever talked to a Cubs fan in real life?
