Who is saying Rizzo should get hit? Maybe I missed someone, but it seems like all the comments here along those lines are people saying, "welp, he's gonna get beaned for that," like it's a stupid thing that's just going to happen, but not that they WANT it to happen. Edited by Sammy Sofa

The Score was saying there was a lot of infighting in the Pirates clubhouse after the game, some(Probably Rodriquez) were upset they didn't retaliate before the game ended. Not sure how much truth there is to any of this. Should be an interesting night tonight.

Sharma had some pretty extensive quotes from Rodriguez after the game where he didn't sound terribly upset. Maybe he was putting on a polite face for the media but his words made it sound like he wasn't thrilled but he wasn't angry either.

The only reason that slide is any different from every slide into second base during a double play attempt is that the catcher had his back turned, whereas middle infielders are generally able to jump over those slides. Totally legal and routine slide attempting to break up a DP, it’s just that the optics look different because the catcher didn’t see it coming.

You can also slide straight through home and still be safe. You can’t technically do that at second though before the rules changed people obviously did it when the out was obvious

i always think it's funny when mojo starts using advanced stats that mean nothing to him other than just being acronyms on fangraphs

"have you seen his URL? unsustainable. Don't be fooled by his IP Address!"

That's the right call. Would that have changed anything with the rest of the play outside of Gimenez being out? Are they allowed to tell the runners to go back to 2nd and 3rd in hindsight?

Yeah I think that’s the right call as well. Would assume it’s a dead ball as soon as he makes contact and Giminez would be ruled out and runners back to 2nd/3rd.
