Hoskins and Santana at the corners sounds good.

Odd trade. They get a good bench bat but give up an interesting young arm. Bour has nowhere to play really. Santana at first, Franco at 3rd, Hoskins and Nick Williams on the corners. Certainly gives them good insurance/offense off the bench though.

 

They also DFA'd Jake Thompson and I wouldn't mind grabbing him. Was a really good prospect fairly recently.

Archer to the Pirates for Meadows and Glasnow.. Am I crazy for thinking Tampa easily got away with a steal?

 

Apparently TB also got a PTBNL and that player is Shane Baz, the Pirates #4 prospect and 1st round selection from the 2017 draft.

If Glasnow keeps pitching like he has since arriving in Tampa. then yes they got a steal. I don't know what elixir they gave him, but they're stretching him out over three starts and his numbers look like this:

This is a very very fringe rumor that will probably be shot down in like 2 seconds but there are people on twitter discussing Daniel Murphy and the Cubs. Joel Sherman did report a few mins ago that a team that was not the Yankees claimed Murphy but that’s it for legitimate news sources and obviously the Cubs were not mentioned.

 

I’m only mentioning this because a) I’m bored and b) the people saying there is a trade happening have like 4-5k followers so it’s not just some random fake twitter account. Do what you want with the “info”

It makes sense even if Russell is 100 percent healthy. Addison Russell sucks. Put Baez at SS and Murphy at 2B and it helps an offense that slumps way too often. Then put Russell in for defense later in games.

He’s horrible on defense, like playing Travis Shaw at 2B bad. The bat is fine and likely good, but still odd move. I worry it means KB is dead.
