Hicks came in and hit the first batter on the first pitch, then walked Hamilton on 4 pitches. Hopefully the Reds can take advantage.

EDIT: Now a bloop single so they’ve got bases loaded, no out and 2-3-4 coming up.

Poor guy is going is going to get harassed by Bud Norris way harder now.

Judging by Bud Norris’ career stats, I think Hicks is making Norris proud.

"Bud, why are you carving that in his locker, he only got 2 strike outs tonight."

Matheny using his 7th pitcher. WTF

Heyward was not wrong when he said they would swirl the bowl.

It is glorious to watch.

Since their 3-18 start the Reds have gone 40-34 with a +27 RD (would have looked a lot better without their 15 run loss this week), or basically an 88 win pace. Obviously they won’t make the playoffs but they’ve been playing like a playoff contender for almost half a season. Should they even sell any major pieces at the deadline or stay quiet and look to build on what they have in the offseason?

They’ll trade Harvey since he’s a FA at year’s end, and if they find a really good deal for Hamilton or Gennett (unlikely) they should take it since both are FA after 2019, but otherwise yeah they’d be best served not getting rid of anything significant. Their best relievers aren’t flashes in the pan, which is the only other situation they’d want to look to sell.

ooh, now do the mets!

Started 11-1 and they're 28-53 since.

They were also 24-19 but are 15-35 since. That's a .300 winning percentage which is still better than what KC (.287) and Baltimore (.281) have done this whole season.

I was feeling dumb for considering them a half-decent sleeper team before the season but now I realize I was right all along, as usual.

The only way that game could have been better is if it had gone on another 10 innings before the Pirates put them out of their misery.
