I had a feeling the brewers could have issues with the pirates and reds. Teams in the division but out of the race seem to give teams in the hunt trouble. I always felt like our best efforts in our bad seasons were against the cardinals or reds or whomever.... I could be making all of this up though

It's crazy how much the crowded playoff fields really pared down over the last week. There's pretty much 11 teams alive for 10 playoff spots now (with the Red Sox and Indians already clinching), although the Rays have gained 3 games on the A's in 3 days and are 5.5 out of WC2, but probably not happening with 10 games left.

Other than that its pretty much deciding which 3 of the Brewers, Cardinals, Rockies, Dodgers make the playoffs and what seed they get

For whatever reason I'll always remember that in 2006 in one of the worst seasons I can remember as a Cubs fan, where they played out the string after D-Lee broke his wrist and Dusty had completely soured on the team, that the Cubs went like, 10-6 against the Cardinals. (I looked it up at it was 11-8, oh well)

Anyway its not a real thing but its the only thing I'll remember from that season.

Neifi's grand dong in the 10th in 05 was also memorable. 10-6 against a 100-win STL team that season.

I'm still mad that Albert Pujols got the MVP over Derrek Lee that year. He was probably better than D-Lee by a nose but c'mon, throw a bone here

Didn’t they sweep the Cardinals at Wrigley? I remember going to a game in late July/early August 2006 and it was hot as horsefeathers in Chicago (close to 100 degrees).
