Reason why baseball is wonderful: The 2018 journey starts with a pitcher no one’s ever heard of and ends eight month later with a Cubs World Series championship.

Well we're already losing to the Vaunted Brewers and they held us to one run. How long does Theo stand pat in the face of this upstart team wresting control of the division like this?

Rizzo and Willy with DONGS, KB is 1-1 for a single and a walk, Javy is 1-2 with a triple and Russell is 1-2 with a single. Think they are all out or about to be taken out for the day, good work fellas

Posted in ST thread also but fwiw, Chatwood, Lester, Hendricks, Yu, and Q is the rotation order when the big boys start, starting this Monday. FWIW.

I was there yesterday as well. Butler looked terrible, no movement on his pitches at all, he's lucky they didn't do more damage against him. I think he had one swing and miss the whole time. Farell looked good. Maples had good movement and velocity but control want there yet. Underwood's outing was quick, didn't see enough to get a good impression.

Stupid Sexy Schwarber has stolen two bases.

Yeah, I was just about to post that. I don't know how I feel about this... It's a lot easier stealing bases in ST games than it will be during the regular season. I mean he's definitely faster on the bases now which is a good thing.

Did anyone catch Craig Brooks' outing on Friday? The easy assumption is no one stuck around that long but can't hurt to ask a Cubs forum.

I actually turned it on just in time for Brooks' outing. He gave up two hits but they were a bloop to short LF that Burks dove and missed(Russell/Baez makes the play easy) and a 4 hopper through the right side. No velocity readings so I can't be sure how hard he was throwing, but the slider looked pretty good to my amateur eye, maybe a touch loopy compared to other wipeout RP sliders. Got a swinging K with it and caught another guy looking with the fastball. Competition wasn't that high at that point like you might guess, but he did face Nick Franklin(he was the bloop 1B IIRC).
