acting like you needed to include the meaningless spring training game qualifier

it was one of the last fun moments before we no longer needed to find joy in things like that

I remember getting the push notification from the MLB AtBat app about the Soler-Baez-Bryant back to back to back dong fest.

There is never joy in Spring Training games. Only boredom. If Spring Training was a three-day weekend it would be too long

I'm hoping he'll be Marmol 2.0. I'll be cool with that if he can't figure it out.

Baldonado with the most dominant performance I've ever seen from a pitcher I've never heard of. Dude blew those nobodies away.

I didn't get to see it... if the mlb app game log is right... he had a 9 pitch inning, all 9 swings and misses with no contact? That is impressive.... Whatever Hickey had him do, he needs to keep doing it.

I know nothing means anything, but it's still fun to watch the Cubs beat the Dodgers and Indians on back to back days with effective outings from Darvish and Quintana .

Was there any update on Simmons? Injured or ineffective? Anything serious?

I saw shoulder tightness mentioned somewhere.

So he's dead.

as a temporary Arizonan, it was pretty joyful to pay $10 for tickets and go have some beers with friends while pretending to watch baseball

He did strike out the side but I think at least 2 of the counts he threw 1-2 balls. I watched his inning this morning since I missed the game and had it DVR'd. Either way though he looked great.

So we've pretty much decided that Ian Happ is the Cubs leadoff hitter now? That was the guy I wanted for the role, and he's raking so far in ST.

Heyward at leadoff was a dumb idea. KB is too good to leadoff, but I wouldn't mind if he did it occasionally. Zobrist is a good candidate too if he bounces back and the wrist issues are behind him.
