That's 43 steals in 70 starts. I don't want to be flippant, but I also don't care even a little bit.

May explain why he pitches out of the stretch now though.

I hope it becomes like the Lester thing and teams keep running themselves into outs in key situations.

Oh yeah, some overzealous dummy(I'm looking at you, Tommy Pham) is gonna wind up with 5 CS in a 3 game series and have an aneurysm at the end of it.

Why would that matter? All pitchers pitch out of the stretch with runners on base. But yes, overall agree I don't really care about SB against us.

Several pitchers are going stretch exclusive because they feel it's easier to repeat their mechanics but you would think if more teams realize that the success rate against a particular pitcher is so high that the volume would go up as a result

Miguel Montero being traded months after producing two of the biggest moments in franchise history because he five-hopped 6 throws to second is one of the funniest things ever.

Anyway, no, I don't even remotely care what the time to home is for the SP with the best K/9 in the history of baseball.

I'm sure that was part of it, but he got traded more because of the horsefeathers talk about Arrieta being unable to hold runners.

I found this tidbit interesting from The Athletic's article about the Cubs courting Darvish:

Darvish showed the playful side of his personality by sending team president Theo Epstein a photo of him as a young boy in a Cubs shirt. As the negotiations dragged out and Epstein half-jokingly accused Darvish of only waiting on the Dodgers, Yu texted back the same picture.

I want to see that photo.

It’s still so cool that Theo is running the Cubs and can do things like this. It never gets old. I’m so fired up for this season.

So much for this signing knocking down the rest of the dominoes. Every other big FA still sitting out there

I wonder if at this point some guys are sitting out, out of principle to prove a point for another week or so even if they have decent offers (like JD and his 5/125 or whatever and Hosmer and his 6/120 or whatever).

i still can’t believe that not only are there two teams offering eric horsefeathering hosmer $140 million deals, he’s also not falling all over himself to accept one of them before both GMs sober up.

Yeah it’s crazy he hasn’t taken one of those offers yet, assuming they are true (which it seems to be as nobody has said he doesn’t have them or the reported figures aren’t true from KC/SD).

Wasn't there a tweet somewhere that said of the X amount of free agents still unsigned, something like 80% of them are Boras clients or something like that?

I know the big money ones mostly are, Hosmer, Martinez and Arrieta are for sure. Idk about Moustakas, Cobb or Lynn.

Some Boston media type tweeted out last week JD Martinez' offer is a lot closer to $100 million than $125.

“In person, you don’t look like a guy I only have to throw with 60% effort to get out.”

Speaking of in-person, Heyward is the most physically imposing human I've ever seen. He made guys like Rizzo, Bryant and Schwarbs look puny in comparison

Eloy was right there with Soler as a Terminator specimen in person.
