If years and money were the same, would you prefer Darvish or a return of Jake?

This question/prosposal has been brought up in different forms before in here but Darvish in that scenario I’d say 95% of the people who’ve voiced their opinion would pick Darvish (and 100% of the smart poster on here would pick him). I think Darvish is the clear option in just about any scenario short of Jake’s market turning in to a 1 year deal or Darvish approaching $30 million in aav (or whatever the FO has determined is the AAV they won’t touch or if they go to it, it affects future plans).

This is way over the top. Darvish is the clear preference, but Jake at 1 year is ridiculous. The draft pick is the biggest hindrance to jakes market. Even without it Yu may be the favorite, but not at, say, 3 years vs 5.

But the answer to the original question is Darvish.

Who the horsefeathers is Charles the Cat on twitter?

What’s this now?

Someone on Twitter that tweets like they have a direct connection to the FO. I just ignored them at first but then some other Cubs fans/bloggers I follow interact with them like they were credible-ish.

LMFAO...the Cat is just a dude who posts at bleacher nation. He has no contacts. it's all a farce.

He shows how easy it is to appear to have information, though.

and even if it's completely made up it's boring af this time of year and it's something to talk about. you gauge the credibility of any and all communication you receive. that's on the person receiving the message.

plus, SOMETIMES, it's legit someone that has some way of inside info so it's fun imo (see: pearl jam poster guy w/ Lester)

It does put a fine point on how useless a guy like Heyman is, when anyone with zero information can sound just as "official"

MLB radio this morning kept talking about a rumor that the Cubs and Cards are going at Arrieta the hardest. They shot down the Cards side of it making no sense. But it got me thinking that Boras is trying to drive up a price on the Cubs if they are negotiating at all.

I'm assuming he means Astros.

Astros are one of the 5 teams referenced in the tweet Darvish is responding to.
