Story of the season so far is guys that were previously written off, performing like studs. Kyle Fuller, Adrian Amos, and Christian Jones (quietly) have all been really good this year, especially the last 3 weeks. Hell, could probably include Kyle Long in that group.

Next week should be interesting. Huge test for the surprising DB group that has been playing great football. If they can't hold the Saints down (nobody else has), then Loggains will have to unleash Trubisky in some way, shape, or form in order to compete in the game. Either way, I expect the Bears to let Trubisky do a little bit more coming out of the bye. They're going to have to at some point.

Um, Brett Hundley is the QB of the Packers, jackass. This division is winnable.

Knock it off with the personal attacks when you come back.

you seriously just banned him for that?

dude who is almost never around but happens to have been designated a mod like 10 years ago is pretty quick with the ban stick.

He didn't get a permanent ban, relax. It was 24 hours and I've handed out longer ones for less before.

The team stats for this game are hilarious. If you looked only at total yards, first downs, time of possession, etc., you'd think Carolina won by three touchdowns

Yes. I haven’t seen all the Bears games this year. But as I watched today I was amazed by Fuller’s play. That’s the guy we drafted. I hope he keeps it going.

I brought it up last page, but since we turned down his 5th year option(rightfully so), he's a FA at the end of the year. He's playing like a legit number 1 and has been for most of the year.

Its a weird spot to be in. If he keeps this up, its going to be one of the weirdest franchise tags ever, unless we can lock him up longterm.

Which brings up another question. What do you give a guy that's doing this? I'd be wary still myself, but he does LOOK like he's legitimately turned himself into a damn good player at this point. Guess next week will tel us a bit more.

Lol. 7 pass attempts!?

I 100% knew the Tebow gameplan was coming when they got the 14-0 lead. So predictable.

curious as to how letting your rookie QB throw only 7 passes does anything to "develop" him but i'll take a win.

that said, North is wide open for the taking. go trade for a WR and let's get weird.

I guess maybe there's *some* (?) value in having him in game and getting his feet wet like this until he gets a better feel and faces not so great defenses but it is really terrible to watch and debatable at best as to whether there's any benefit to this.

I was gonna type "fox is taking a beating for a game plan that worked really well. What do you guys even want? Trubisky throwing 40 times a game for a 35% completion rate as the team dives to 4-12 and Fox gets fired?" Then I realized I guess that is what I want too.

The benefit is to the team because he at least won't horsefeathers down his leg under the slightest bit of pressure.

Maybe. I need to see more games where they win without needing balls popping right into their hands for returnable turnovers. You're gonna have good luck days and bad luck days, but winning on two very good luck days in a row probably shouldn't change our opinion of the team too much.

Eh, even before they started getting bounces, they were getting their hands and their balls a lot more frequently. I think we can pretty comfortably draw conclusions over 1/3 of the way through the season.

OK. My conclusion is that the defense is pretty good and the offense is pure excrement. That might be enough to sneak into the middle of the pack or it might be a top-5 pick. Depends on the bounces.

I'm down with this asssement.

Hah. But seriously there is value everytime Mitch lines up and reads defenses and dissects film of it afterwards right?

Also the defense wasn't giving him a chance even when he did drop back. 13 drop backs, 7 passes, 4 sacks (PFF only credited 1 sack to him), 2 pressures that led to Mitch running it. I'm not sure how many dropbacks were in 1st vs second but with the game situation and a coach that errs conservative whenever possible this was the most likely way for us to preserve the lead and win

Fox isn't trying to develop Trubisky as his #1 priority. He's trying to save his job by winning and Trubisky's development will take a back seat. With that said, the receiving core stinks and when you are up by two touchdowns, I don't disagree with Fox's gameplan after that one bit.

Its horsefeathering hell not having a wr worth a horsefeathers. But hey we stuck by that Kevin White pick when we let Jeffery go! (Nevermimd Meredith’s terrible demise). If you still had Jeffrey, even if Meredith was gone, he wouldn’t be made of horsefeathering glass like White

Trubisky isn’t a turnover machine so that’s what the doctor ordered for Fox. Get a few TOs, suffocate your opposition on D, get an ugly win. In Fox’s world that’s gravy.

He’s not developing Mitch. That’s obviously not the plan, at least not right now.
