SS is not a position I'm looking at as having other options...baez against scherzer isn't likely to end any better and russell is better defensively.

How poorly has Addy been playing? He had a walk and a hit in game 1, and probably had the best overall AB against Strasburg when he was dominating everyone else and generally seems to be hitting the ball hard since his return. This is just based on gut I have no idea if the numbers validate this.

 

That said Addy vs Scherzer seems like a poor matchup for sure

Last time Scherzer pitched in Wrigley, Zobrist took him deep. Twice. That is not a great reason to start him(La Stella also took him deep that day) and it was 18 months ago, but it's something to cling to I guess.

pretty pointless. given all the nats' lefties out of the pen, he's never going to get a high leverage ph appearance vs a rhp (unless it's against scherzer or strasburg i guess).
