I know this is the stretch where you should use your best reliever a lot to seal a playoff spot, I just don't agree with him going to a second inning today

Am I imagining things, or have the Brewers just been sending out random middle relievers to start, and somehow be dominant, all season? It's really irritating and I want to see them fail.

Even if they won their next 2 games and the Cubs lost tomorrow and the Cubs lost 3 of 4 in STL, the Cubs would be 1 game up with 3 to play. So yes even if the Cubs go 1-5 in their 6 games (including today) and the Cardinals go 5-1 the Cubs will still be in a situation where they are overwhelming favorites to win the division with a weekend to go.

 

The goal is the same as the Brewers series, win at least 1

Do I think the Cubs will blow the lead? No.

 

But if we lose tomorrow and the Cardinals win the next 2, that series isn't important?? If it's not important you are saying it's ok to win 1 of 4. *Not* saying that scenario is going to happen.

 

I was ok with a split in both series but we still have to take care of business.
