9/23 World Champs (The Professor) @ Vaunted Brewers (Looking For More Pitchers) 12:05 PM FOX

Posted

Once again, the Cubs prevail in extras. This time, Counsell blew his two best relievers and the Cubs still won.

Today, the Brewers will start Darryl Brian Brett Rich Brandon Brody Brent Suter, who is making his 4th start since coming off the DL for shoulder problems, and has thrown at most 64 pitches in a start since returning. That should get the Brewers 4 innings, which leaves them 5 innings to cover with their non-Hader/Knebel contingent.

The Cubs counter with Kyle Hendricks, who has been, well, very Kyle Hendricks esque since early April struggles. Last time out, he shut down the Cardinals over nearly 8 innings.

The Cubs' magic numbers are down to 5 and 4 with 9 to play, with a now 99.8% chance to make the postseason.

A split in Milwaukee was probably enough to cinch the NL Central, but while we're here, let's just win again. Cool?

outing myself here for looking at brewerfan misery porn, but this was too good

Hahahah! It's about ethics in being a guest of an empire. What did they expect, guests of an ump are supposed to just sit at a game and remain completely neutral to both teams?

Confused at first by the typo, now I like it.

Anyone playing in the NL central from 2015-2020 are really just guests of the empire.

lol at this sad MFer. it almost makes me feel bad for them

This is probably just as well. Even if we got in what good would it do? This bunch is full of promise but not really ready for post season play.

they don't even want a WC2 spot because they know they'd lose. quite a dramatic downfall for The Vaunted

also, for any mlb.tv users i've watched the brewers broadcast for the last couple innings of the past two games. it does not disappoint.

Their announcers aren't actually too bad, and are pretty honest when their team is being dumb and bad. They are sorta the anti-Hawks

Interacting with all my Brewer fan friends, who keep saying the future is bright and this year was 1-2 years too early I remind them every time (while they have a nice system and young players) the Cubs already have a better, younger player at nearly every position along with soooo much more money, so keep trying to tell yourself something is coming that can annually compete with this team for multiple years. Also their top 3 pitchers all had career years, one is already dead and one has been hurt before so keep talking like the 2015 Mets about the rotation being set with “3 aces” for the next 5 years

i didn't say they were terrible. but it was nice to hear the disappointment in their voices. maybe it's bc my cousin is a bit of an ass and a brewer fan/cub hater (even when the cubs sucked...)

ftr they also did say some stupid horsefeathers like counsel should go to the casino bc he's hitting all the right buttons

People still trying to make this happen are only slightly less worse than the "lift my balls" guy.

I worked too long and hard on "doom boner" (HIIIIIIIIIII-OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH) to see it be neglected for this nonsense.

I heard that, too. When the game a couple days ago was on MLBN. Did they say it again last night?

I'm so used to basically every team besides ours having such awful announcing teams that the Brewer guys seem great by comparison, but they're mostly just there

Yeah they are perfectly fine, especially compared to the rest of the league. Hell even our own division the Pirates, Reds and Cardinals crews are abominations

Ugh, the Reds. Being stuck in their broadcasting area means 17 games a year listening to those numbnuts

I want to see Dexter celebrating with the guys after the game (not on the field but maybe in the locker room later at least to say congrats to the guys or out after the game) when we clinch next week. That would just a be a treat to see the BFIB’s reactions.

Don't sound like a tipsy Rose Kennedy wearing a giant floppy sun hat.

Win Turds.

But alas the mighty vaunted Brew Crew cannot be defeated without help from the ump crew. 20 games over and taking the Brewers souls is too much for this team.
