For months, I have been in favor of trading him to an AL club

But he hit another homer today and I think now I want him back.

This dude has 3 posts, all of which started new threads with hot nonsense.

Schwarber was hitting in the .170's most of the year.

How is that nonsense?

Uhhhh theres close to a 0% chance he isnt the opening day left fielder next year and thats been pretty steady throughout his struggles.

Really? I Almora is starting in CF, why might you not start Jay or Happ in LF?

Why would you not start Happ or Jay in LF?

because batting average is a stupid stat to evaluate his year on?

or if you DO use the stupid stat, you can see that he has hit .250ish since July?

or because he's going to hit 30+ HR every year regardless of his average?

How about 1. Scharber sucks

defensively?

And 2. If Schwarber is untouchable, why did Theo bring his name up in the Quintana deal, if rumors are accurate?

There is no "bringing him back," there's only "not trading him at his lowest possible value when we don't have to"

Schwarber can really come or go. I was really into the idea of him being a HR hitter who could catch once a week or more, but since he's stuck in LF and power is so easy to find now, he's really only valuable as long as he's cheap. If there's some way to turn his cheap team control into something more valuable, I guess I'd be ok with it.

cut him after this game imo

Id say maybe cutting him mid game would send a message to the rest of the team. Should we wait and do it in a playoff game for extra zing?

Nah, you wait until he does some more charity work, that's when you cut him. Yellon- style.

Schwarber is our LF next year. Yeah, he struggled this year. He's still got a very reasonable OPS, despite being lost most of the season.

He's a plus makeup guy. He'll bounce back big next year. Not concerned about him honestly and I doubt the FO is either.

He's not untouchable, but we're not going to sell low on him either, which you'd be doing.

I didn't know which "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" gif to go with so I included both...

So, I'm not trying to be elitist (honestly) but I thought we got rid of all the meatballs around here lol.

Evaluating a player simply on HRs and BA when we have so many better stats? WTH?

No, we're not getting rid of Schwarber and I think he'll have a monster season next year. If you want to complain about other players -- fine (plenty of choices). For the life of me, I don't know how you can complain about Schwarber after what he has done these past two postseasons and especially last year in the WS. I don't think we win the WS without his contributions/comeback from a gruesome injury.

Despite a low BA Schwarber's bat's not too bad for his age.

Then someone will say that his defense can't ever be saved.

Despite a low BA Schwarber's bat's not too bad for his.......aggggggggggggggggge.
