2017 Playoff Ticket Lottery ($50 refundable deposit required)

The Cubs are requiring a $50 refundable deposit with each entry to cut back on the number of duplicate entries. I get it and I'll pay them to hold my money for a month, just never heard of a team requiring fans to pay a deposit to register a lottery that will give you a CHANCE to get playoff tickets if selected.

 

Oh well, maybe I'll get picked this year for once.

 

Also: Cut off date for NLDS is Sept 19, so you have 6 days.

Uh, what the hell man this isn't fair, now I have to put down $1,500 just for a chance to buy tickets that I will then later sell for a profit to other people who did not get selected for a chance to buy tickets.

I understand the decision. Went ahead and registered even though I would be unlikely to be able to go even if I were picked. I imagine I could find someone to take them under such circumstances.

I signed up late...I thought I had until 11:59 PM the day that registrations ended, but apparently it was like noon that day.

Jesus....I'm on a pretty fast connection and was refreshing right up until 12:00...got in as quick as I could and tried to get 4 tickets for game 3, best available. Apparently the best available, seconds after it opening, were standing room. Went back, requested 4 for game 4...section 508. Clearly there aren't many tickets out there.

got 4 tickets: 3 in section 505 row 1 and 1 in section 504 row 1. slim pickings!

My time was 11:30 so it wasn't actually seconds after it opened. I could only get standing room for Game 3 too, so I also went with Game 4.
