Since this is a stupid mountain time zone I request a non-18 inning game and let's win and since it's in a dong haven, let's do that too. Losing is dumb. Let's lose less.

last season the cubs didn't lose their 15th game until this April

You want to take another stab at that?

i mean it's kind of a silly joke considering the 2016 cubs went through a much worse stretch than what we've seen so far this year.

Ding Dong is known to have fun with stats. His stat is what he meant.

Has DeJesus gotten any better? I haven't been able to stomach the awkwardness since the first week of the season.

A little bit. He's still awkward as hell, but he has some decent insight.

He seems terrified of the camera and refuses to look into it

I was listening to Hollandsworth do a Marlins game and he's solid. I see much bigger things for him in his future.

For no reason whatsoever, Justin Hancock sounds like someone who is better at baseball than what we got...26 year old double-A reliever with average at best peripherals. Guess we didn't have much leverage.

I don't watch much pre/post stuff. I've literally seen him once for about 45 seconds and that was my one takeaway.

Not really. It's painful. I had checked out maybe 5 postgame shows this year (before turning it off every time because of how much I was cringing) and tonight gave the pregame show a shot (mainly for weather updates)... it's just bad.

Just constantly stumbling and random words thrown together. Kap is almost always doing the "analysis" and puts things on a tee for DeJesus to answer that relate to his playing career. "Put yourself in La Stella's shoes with the start tonight," or "how would you handle this sleeping schedule?" or "do the players panic after a stretch like this?"

And still, it's just highly uncomfortable. I do think it's a *tad* better but it's still brutal. And, hey, it's not his fault. TV is hard and most people can't comfortably speak in front of a camera. It's just mind-blowing that CSN thought this guy could do the job. I read an article where they said how Urlacher and Hollandsworth had struggles when they started but I don't remember them ever being anything like this.

He seems like a really nice guy and surely knows baseball, but man, it's hard to watch him try to put it into words.

Yeah, every organization has Matt Szczurs. Teams aren't going to trade "prospects" for 0.5-1 WAR No. 5 outfielders that aren't above average at any particular skillset. He's a fine 24th-25th player but these guys just don't have trade value either.

Remind me how the extra roster spot works with DH's. Are you allowed to have 26 active guys for both games, or a 26th guy that can be used in one of the games?

Assuming the Cubs will bring up a pitcher given how the last week has gone, but possibly would be cool to bring up someone like Candelario for a day if he is eligible in both games.

It appears the 26th man is only eligible for game 2. http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/26th_Man_Rule

Tommy Birch just suggested Candelario for the 26th spot. He's usually got a good pulse on anything going on with Iowa. I hope it is him, he deserves a bit of ML time after his start.
