I know my rep around here isn't exactly sterling but man

This offense looks terrible right now. It's OK to admit that. In fact, it's OK to criticize it. They are not prepared to hit baseballs hard. 2 anomalous (for this season) performances does not a strong offense make.

That said, we'll be there in the end, with another division title.

But it's OK to call a spade a spade. These guys are not hitting consistently enough to strike fear in anybody.

I'm pretty sure if any team strikes fear in anybody, it's the World Series champions, who won 103 games and return basically everyone.

Oh hey look, the Pirates won their World Series. Ive been waiting forever to drop that on another team's fan base!

I wonder if the Pirates will be successful this year in their bid to earn a 1 game playoff.

Dumb series, bunch of bad luck and not executing on opportunities. Also horsefeathers Joe West, on to Milwaukee.

This is pretty much what happened. Seemed every missed call by the home plate ump had dire consequences repeatedly i.e. bad luck. The opportunities were there they just didn't execute which is better than the opportunities never being there in the first place. The bullpen which had been solid for the most part had a terrible weekend which made matters look worse than they probably were but the starters pitched well enough to win each game, especially Lester. They're fine, just need to keep plugging away and things will start to fall in their favor once again.

It's no coincidence that this losing streak was accompanied by some busted ass game threads, so whoever is next better step the horsefeathers up.

Duke's gonna pull us out of this.

glad to have precedence set for doing away with win/lose/draw XYZ is still up

now do away with "in the hold" and Fred's legacy will be perfect.

100% agree

I'm fine with both. Just trying to stick to the namesake's rules, but I'm all for saying screw it to both.
