So on the way home from christmas, I commented to my wife that it was weird I didn't get one cubs related thing, especially since when my mom asked what I wanted, I had mentioned the 8 disc Blu ray. I told my wife that since I didn't get that, I'll just go and buy it myself since it's the one thing I really wanted. The next day, my wife (after texting with my mom) tells me that my mom did indeed buy it, but it apparently didn't come in time for christmas. That's cool, I'll take it a little late, no big deal. However, that's apparently not what is going to happen. She said that my mom is thinking about saving it for my birthday present. Which is in July.

 

So what do I do about this? Do I suck it up and wait, or do I tell her I want it now, birthday be damned? I love Christmas, but this is exactly why I hate getting presents, because without presents I would already have this and have watched it a million times.

Trying to remember off the top of my head...

 

Bought myself:

- Cubs hat w/ WS Champs patch

- W/Champs garden flag

- World Series trophy paperweight

- Cubs champs short sleeve shirt

- Cubs champs long sleeve shirt

 

For Christmas:

- 8 disc blu ray set

- Champs magnet

- W flag

- Cubs locker room stocking cap (not in yet)

- "Won For the Ages" Commemorative Edition book

 

that should hold me over until the repeat

I forgot to put together a Christmas list this year, but the one thing my family knew I couldn't get enough of was Cubs world series swag. So I got a bunch.

 

Autographed Kris Bryant World Series ball.

8 disc box set

3 Sweatshirts

2 T-shirts

Thermos

Set of 4 beer mugs

Blanket

Growler

 

And probably a few more items I'm forgetting at the moment.

 

The holidays were nuts this year.

For those who got the regular DVD, is this the same one that's sold on MLB.com?

I got the 8 disc set as a gift but that doesn't appear to have the regular season highlights or the movie that aired on TV a couple weeks ago.

I had Baez in my set. . .. .very cool 15 card set that I'll display for sure.

Was $150 but it's sold out. I think I just got lucky -- looks like the Topps Now line is available 24 hours per product.

It is. The 8 disc set is just the World Series broadcasts plus the pennant clincher, albeit with radio broadcast options too.

My employee got me a copy of Pat Hughes's game 7 scorecard. So cool. Would love to get it signed by Pat and framed. Or at least framed.

My mom ordered me a framed press plate of the Tribune cover. About 8 weeks later it finally showed up apparently. I'm pretty jazzed about it.

 

Also, for people still wanting swag, Lids is having a pretty sweet 50% off apparel and 25% off novelties deal. Got myself one of the long sleeved shirts for like 8 bucks. Some of the hats are just $10 too, I think.

Thanks both of you. Got the Bryant WS shirsey and locker room hoodie for a total of $24 including shipping. Wanted to get the Nike hoodie too but after I put it in my cart and came back it was out of stock
