Lineup prediction for Tuesday:

Fowler- CF

Bryant- 3B

Rizzo- 1B

Zobrist- LF

Schwarber- DH

Russell- SS

Heyward- RF

Contreras- C

Baez- 2B

Go with your best defensive lineup and your best hitters at each position. These guys got you to the dance. Now's not the time to tinker with Chris Coghlan.

I think Ross will be in there instead of Contreras.

I feel so much better about this series after last night. Winning out feels infinitely more achievable for whatever meatbally reason. With that said, it's a little sad that regardless of what happens there's at most 2 more baseball games this year. We're going to be stuck with the mediocre Bulls, tire fire Bears and Hawks for the next few months and the Bears race for #1 pick is probably the most interesting of the 3.

WS odds only went up to 24% after this according to fivethirtyeight.

They have the Cubs as 52-48 favorites in Game 6 and 45-55 dogs in Game 7

If we get an early lead, their little sphincters will start to shrink a bit.

Another thing about this win: Our long Kyle driven nightmare is over! The Cubs will not lose 3 straight games to be eliminated from the playoffs this year.

That was absolutely amazing last night! The crowd was really pretty great. I feel pretty optimistic about at least getting to game 7.

Question: Was the outside corner to RH hitters as inconsistent as it looked from the left center bleachers?

Yep. At one point, Lester thew three straight pitches in the same spot just outside. FIrst two were balls, and the last one was a called third. Same spot.

I'm all out of member berries but I fee like KB was rung up on a really low pitch early in the game and then a really high pitch late in the game. Anyone else member this?

awesome autocorrect, and yes that happened.

I think I need to ramp back my sports intensity for awhile so I think its a good thing. The Bulls look like they might be at least interesting to watch this year, same with the Hawks, but I do not need to have that feverish daily obsession over a team like I have had with the Cubs over the last 7 months.

Plus for me UM football is looking pretty damn good so I have that to get excited about provided they don't trip up before OSU

at this moment the greatest pitching performance (result + magnitude) of our lifetime is by Aroldis Chapman last night, thankfully Jake and Prof. Hendricks will both pass him up.

Hendricks Game 6 NLCS?

I don't know, I put World Series elimination game over NLCS Game 6 up a game in magnitude. Could probably be convinced otherwise further out from last night.

This needs to be a thing.

That foul tip caught him right in the member berries.

That took some pretty big member berries to throw that pitch in that situation.

Andrew Miller can suck my member berries.

I wish I could take credit for member berries.

I keep reading people saying that Joe stuck with Chapman because he's lost faith in Rondon and Strop. I get Rondon, but I don't see any reason why Maddon should have lost any faith in Strop. He's pitched well when he's been in, other than that garbage time inning against the Dodgers, although he's only pitched 5 innings in the entire playoffs. I think Joe stuck with Chapman because he's our best relief pitcher and he was going to ride or die with him in this game.

Aroldis Chapman went running through the Cubs’ dugout, yelling, “Four! Four! Four!”

Jason Heyward asked Javier Baez, “What’s he saying?”

Upon hearing Baez’s explanation, Heyward burst out laughing.

“He’s hitting fourth,” Baez said, referring to Chapman’s place in the batting order in the eighth inning.

That's actually kind of hilarious. Wish I should fully embrace him.

I love it how AL / relief pitchers turn into kids when they get a chance to bat

Also, I hope Ross plays in Game 6 or 7, but if this was his last appearance in the bigs -

His last PA drove in the game winning run

His last moment in the field was throwing out the tying run trying to steal 2B

There are worse ways you can go out.

All true. But I'd rather have him end his career by driving in the winning run in game 7.
