Plus were past the point where we can feel good about Good ABs with bad results

I'll feel good about any AB with a lot of pitches

fouling off pitches over the plate only to strike out doesn't seem like a victory in any sense of the word

Working up pitch counts is always a good way to make an out.

think mlb wants a 7 game series here

Hypothetically wouldn't they want the Cubs to win then with Kershaw on the mound in game 6?

And then worst case scenario the Cubs win game 6 and you have the Cubs in the World Series

But I kind of want Maeda to stay in for a bit.

Generally you're right though and I'm not suggesting Heyward purposely strike out. I was basically saying the time for moral victories from Heyward ABs is over. He is what he is right now.

Yeah, any conspiracy theory puts the cubs in the World Series.

18 pitch first isn't ideal. let's go lester

i always get worked up about that too, but next inning is the bottom of the order so he'll have easier at bats.

Just occurred to me that this team was historically good with no schwarber and heyward laying an egg. I don't expect either of those things next year. Granted, Fowler will probably be elsewhere.

no one is arguing that you'd rather see more pitches than fewer

true except the leadoff hitter has a .286 OPS and the redheaded stepchild hits lefties like heyward hits anything not sitting on a tee.

Sucked facing A-Gon with 2 on 1 out but got out of it....oh wait.

2006 UMFan is wondering why you are mocking Howie Kendrick like that
