For some reason, I'm in a much better mood right now than I was 24 hours ago. I can't quite put my finger on exactly why, though. Cubs are throwing Lester, who has been a stud in the playoffs so far. Dodgers will probably be starting Maeda but really, who the hell knows if Roberts will switch it up and toss Kershaw out there.

CUBS are 108-61-1 when they play a baseball game

CUBS are 5-3 in the playoffs

CUBS are 48-36-1 on the road

CUBS are 26-8 when Lester starts

CUBS are 6-5 against the Dodgers

Go CUBS !!

The CUBS are 1-0 in the postseason when Rizzo and Russell go apeshit and dong all over the place.

The CUBS are 2-0 in playoff games started by Jon Lester.

The Dodgers almost have to throw Kershaw tomorrow. If the Cubs go out and mash Maeda like they did last time, the Dodgers would be forced to go back into Chicago to win 2 in a row. Even if it's Kershaw and Hill pitching, that's a pretty daunting task.

If you burn Kershaw on short rest though and don't get the win its over. I think the Dodgers are playing for a game 7 and hoping to get lucky.

Yeah, you've got to win 2 of 3 regardless. Might as well save Kershaw for normal rest. It's not like if they were down 3-1, started Maeda and got eliminated without Kershaw pitching. You're getting one start from Kershaw and unless you're dead set on starting Hill in Game 6 on short rest, you're stuck with a Maeda start anyway, whether its in Game 5 or 6.

They're better off sending Kershaw and Hill on full rest, IMO.

After correctly predicting the Cubs would score 10 runs last night, I'd like to continue my streak of predicting them to be awesome. Conversely, I had unwarranted faith in the Raging Dick-Cheese.

Tonight, I have warranted faith in Jon Lester. After a short outing in game 1 and fuming at Joe, Lester's leash will be understandably long tonight against a pathetic Dodgers squad against lefties. He's been dominant all year and in the playoffs.

Complete Game, 4 hits, Cubs win 4-1.

Go Cubs.

Need a recommendation for a good place to watch tonight's game. Looking for somewhere either close by the Loop or off the blue line close to the Loop. Preferably within about a half mile from a train. My wife is meeting me there so I'm trying to keep it easier for her.

Looking for a place with a decent beer selection and one that will hopefully have audio going for the game.

He threw a bullpen session yesterday so he's not gonna go today. Plus...they want Kershaw for game 6. That game is either gonna be an elimination game or a clinching game. Either way, they want their best pitcher for that.

It's now a best of 3 series with two at Wrigley and the third pitched by our ace.

Its amazing how the emotions/perceptions swing. I went from feelings of desperation to elation and utmost confidence.

It's gonna be a long day but at least it won't be full of awful "what if" scenarios. We need to unban that one guy, let him post dumb horsefeathers for 2 innings then ban him again. The banning that changed our season.
