The Dodgers hit Lester pretty hard. I can see why they'd have thought that game should have been theirs. What I'm NOT seeing though, is concern that Kershaw is possibly overworked or that his propensity to press in must-win games could come into play today.

If I were a Dodger fan, I'd be terrified of both.

I think they'll start out this way.....

CF Dex

3B KB

1B Rizzo

RF Zobrist

C Willy

LF Soler

2B Javy

SS Addy

P Kyle

I believe you are spot on with the players and positions. The batting order may be a bit different though, but I like your order a lot. Joe may do this:

Dex CF

KB 3B

Riz 1B

Soler LF

Zobrist RF

Willy C

Addy SS

Javy 2B

Kyle P

I think Joe likes Soler in the 4 spot (it potentially gives him an extra at bat before he's lifted for defense) and moving Addy down, but out of the 8 hole so it won't hurt his psyche as much. Javy doesn't care where he bats, that's how he rolls. Either way, this line up is delicious.

Reading Dodger fan comments online today they seem convinced that the Dodgers outplayed the Cubs, seized momentum despite the loss and Cub fans are worried about them because of game 1

I worry about an emotional let down. Last night was about as high as high can get. But not momentum

Much like with the game thread starters, you keep going with the same one until the Cubs lose.

Yeah, I've heard that a number of them were complaining about the "lucky" defensive plays. The best response I heard to that was that the Cubs defense is not a bug, it's a feature.

Just curious, what Dodgers forum were you looking at? The only one I used to look at was Dodger Blues, before it got hacked and died.

No forums just their SB nation blog (truebluela) and a couple other dodger blogs I found via google

To go along with the ridiculous fact that Schwarber become the franchise leader in postseason home runs last year, Bryant now has the most postseason XBH.

Seriously, like these are the things that happen when you don't put Howie Kendrick in left field, guys catch the ball.

I know playoff Kershaw is overstated but I just feel better about facing him right now

Starts with more than 2 ER:

Regular season: 2 in 21 starts

Playoffs: 2 in 2 starts

Starts with less than 7 IP:

Regular season: 5 in 21 starts (3 of them were first 3 starts after injury when he was on aggressive pitch count)

Playoffs: 2 in 2 starts.

I know it's SSS and a few others reasons but I can't help but feeling that way

Yeah, I'd rather Soler be in the lineup too, but it's not like he'd transform it into an unstoppable juggernaut against Kershaw. One nitpick is I'd flip-flop Addison & Willson, but whateves. Cubs win 4-2, making my prediction of 5 games seem pessimistic.

Looks like he's hedging on runs being tough to come by, so he's choosing super-prime defense over slight upgrade in offense

I understand this philosophy, but I don't like that Joe is doing this on a night when the weather conditions should be favorable to hitters. I don't even particularly like Soler, but I'd prefer to see him get a chance to hit a cheap homer against a fatigued Kershaw.

I figured if people didn't want Heyward in the lineup tonight it would be for Almora, because what the horsefeathers has Soler done to show he needs to be in there? Yeah, let's anchor the corner OF spots with him and Zobrist with the wind tonight...yeesh.

To put it more diplomatically: I feel more confident that Heyward will go out there and be awesome defensively and get on base once or twice than Soler hitting well enough to offset him playing one of the corners like a butt lord.
