Even if the argument is something dumb, like, "oh, he had to move his glove too much/the pitcher obviously missed his spot," if the moved glove/missed spot ends up IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE FREAKING ZONE WHEN IT CROSSES THE PLATE THEN THAT horsefeathers DOESN'T MATTER.

Replace umps with robots, and then feed the umps to the robots.

That could mess up the robot's programming, that's the last thing we want.

Sports fans are quite strange. The mentions in the Jesse Rogers tweet that quotes Joe are all people who sound like they're scared of being fined at a press conference and don't want to hear excuses, which Joe wasn't really making.

Umpires are TERRIBLE and it needs to be said.

I’ll always remember seeing the headline in the newspaper of “McClendon steals first base” and thinking who the horsefeathers is McClendon and how did he steal first.

You didn't know who former Cubs great and 1989 NLCS hero Lloyd McClendon was?

RE: Robot Umps

"Here's the No. 1 problem I have with it: If you go to a robot umpire, then we completely eliminate catcher framing, throwing to a spot, having your catcher receive it," says Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer, a three-time Cy Young Award winner. "And what's that do to the running game?

"If you have a guy on first, does now the catcher set up in a position in which he can deliver the ball to second base in a much more efficient setup? Instead of having to try to catch it—he doesn't have to worry about framing it anymore—he can just try to catch and throw."

Um, yes Max...catcher framing is actually bad. Your argument is terrible.

If they add the rule about pitchers needing to step off to pickoff runners, all those runners are gonna have an extra half-step on their leads to make up for geared up catchers. Net neutral on the running game, the strike zone is more accurate, and we give the LHP balk pickoff moves the fiery death they deserve. win-win-win

tie-win-win, but I agree whole heartedly. I, for one, welcome our robot overlords.
